A team of Bosmans - Who we could get for free?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby dawson99 » Wed Jan 04, 2006 1:46 pm

Ok, so the bosman situation affects every club. we got done by macca and almost by owen... so why dont we take advantage more?

i found a site which shows the best bosmans available, and i was drawn to Cassano, a 23 yr old playing for AS Roma. Im pretty sure they paid almost 20 million for him as well a few years back, and now hes out of contract.

Francesco Tolda is also available on a free but we are good for 'keepers.

How about Cesar from Deportivo... hes always been with them i think and hes only 28. Not bad for a free?

We could also get ze roberto from munich and ballack from there free. what about pires for a right winger?

Im not saying we need to trawl the depths for players, but these are pretty good darn players, and names we have not really thought of.

any thoughts or more examples?

if you save 7 or 8 million on the transfer wages would be a breeze

Pires would not come to us hes going to join Viera at Juve. There is no room in the centre for Ballack unless Hamman nretires now. Gallas will not sign for us. Rumor is hes of to Juve in the summer. Do you have any idea how much Antonio Cassano will want per wee. Hes on somewhere in the region of £80k a week.

oh well, madrid need another player to ruin i suppose...

well i was only putting in some new thoughts, a new direction. Its mad when you see the plaeyrs available on a free though. you could easily make a team that would consistently finish top 5 or 6 of any league.

Im also not saying we should go for prires, just saying hypothetically we could. All different ideas can only be useful tho

This season would be last season for Hamman . He's too slow for EPL. Having Ballack would be good but i think his wages too high ...

bosmans or not, the players on the transfer list would be unbelievably expensive for rafa. Even he disapproved the amount houllier made for cisse. The only thing he agreed to extend gerrard and carra services because gerrard is liverpool and so is carra. I dunno about traore but rafa HAS the ability to turn something out of nothing. Valencia is the perfect example along with other stints at other clubs.

Forget cassano, pires etc. He will not sign big names without knowing the consequences. Imagine if he'd signed owen for 17m. Our cash would be depleted for january signings or even for the summer. I would strongly consider that blackburn lad, pedersen for the RM. He's been consistent with dickov and I would say, most of blackburn attacking perils came from these two boys. I just don't like dickov cause he reminds me of abramovich

Pederson? He is left wing.

First prize for the most random and wierd post of 2006 so far!  :D

What the hell has Paul Dickov got in common with Roman Abramovich?  :D

Of the players mentioned above:

Ballack will almost certainly go to Milan or Madrid. Way out of our league (in money terms).

Gallas will leave England and join either Juventus, Milan or Barcelona.

Pires is over the hill and will either stay at Arsenal or will get a silly pay day abroad.

Steven Pienaar of Ajax looks a handy player whose contract is up next summer. He's young, talented, versatile, with a great engine. I'm certain he'll be heading to England in the next 6 months.
Jolly Bob Grumbine.
