so its ok for british people to slag off muslims and leeching immigrants (one of the most ignorant generalisations ever) but not ok for a couple of irish guys to have a go at each other about whether north or south is best? which conversation do you want to stop judge? is this one getting in the way of the perfectly acceptable muslim bashing?

there's far to many ridiculous things being said in this thread that its impossible to answer them all. but it seems like most people miss the point that what many of these immigrants are fighting for is basic equality and fair treatment. the reason many are so agrieved is because that's what they are not getting. who wouldn't be? doesn't matter if you're in your 'own' country, or are a 1st or 4th generation immigrant. what did you all think of the toxteth rioters? were they immigrant scum who were never pleased? or were they marginalised and desperate people who were constantly on the receiving end of shameful treatment by police force and government?

i think maybe we should step back and really re-evaluate ourselves, in the light of so much trouble in the world

if its not N/S divide, its immigration etc etc.

urban violence solves nothing andy, and no one civilian has the right to beat to death a 61 yr old, whatever the reason

i know what you mean mate, but its human nature for things at times to descend to stuff most of us dislike or even support.

Thought the Irish thing was a bit silly.

Everything going fine in the south but why would somebody who feels British (like BarryBelfast and about 55% of NI) come down here just to make a few quid? Let them be, I think NI is slowly getting its act together.
