Traore off to arsenal? - Wenger gets what wenger wants!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Liverpool's French left back Djimi Traore has been ear-marked as Ashley Cole's replacement in the Arsenal team reports French newspaper L'equipe.
Apparently negotiations stalled last off season after Cole's move to Chelsea fell through & a club willing to pay Arsenal's £15million asking price never appeared. Well this January it looks like Cole's off to Madrid for about £10 million & the deal could well be back on. Traore's agent Pascal Masourve is quoted as saying "Djimi wants to win things at Liverpool & is ecstaticly happy, but the situation is very much up in the air. Other players know they will move in January to make funds for transfers & Djimi is'nt sure of his place(in the team)" The price quoted was €15million & the paper reported that Liverpool are also going to try to sign Phillepe Mexes from Roma in January.

that seems to be a reasonably good shout. and one that has been mentioned by a couple of sites now. dont mean its true...but its the kind of quality required.

wenger sign traore  as a replacement for cole is laughable, they have a ready made replacement in gichy "i can,t remember how to spell his name but he is a  young frenchman" and far superior to traore

Lets face it Traore's an average player who wouldn't get a look in, in any of the other top teams.   I can't see Wenger going in for him though, particularly as he already has a replacement in Clichy.  Besides, Wenger likes players who are comfortable on the ball and Traore is hardly that.
