Robinson
Neville Terry Carragher Cole
SWP Gerrard King Richardson
Rooney Defoe
I think that with England, some of the more established players need dropped. Beckham and Owen are past their best imo, get rid of them. Lampard and Ferdinand are overrated. Campbell too injury prone these days.
I think with england, you need to get a balanced side rather than trying to accomodate superstars. Lampard and Gerrard do not complement each other, Joe Cole has no left foot, Owen has lost more than just a yard of pace these days.
I'd play SWP and Richardson, they aren't superstars but the'd put good balls into the box and stay out wide giving good width.
Gerrard must be allowed to get forward, that's his major asset now, not tackling which used to be his best asset. King or maybe someone like Carrick would allow this.
At the back you want guts. Nether Carra or Terry are as talented as Rio, but they'd be the first 2 names on my England teamsheet.
Up front Rooney has to play and Defoe has been made wait too long already for a run in the team.
It's time for England to stop letting reputations influence selection
