warnock's been called into the squad because ashley cole is out injured. if you're picking on form then rio would be dropped for sol campbell and darren bent would be upfron alongside owen. however i think crouch will start the game.

it shouldn't really matter to be honest. any eleven we put out should be capable of beating austria at home.

I read in the Daily Express that Mark Wright believes england should go for a 3-5-2 formation as it would suit the side's strengths like Italia '90 and Euro 96' when both teams of the respective era's got to the semi-final stage.

---------------------Robinson-----------------------

                        Ferdinand
                Terry               Campbell

Carragher                                            Warnock

          Beckham    Gerrard     Lampard

                    Crouch   Owen

This team is assuming that the likes of Cole and Rooney are unavailable.
