No matter what we could had offered for Michael Owen, Real Madrid would had attempted to screw us over somehow. When we are interested in their players then they are hard to do business with. For instance, we wanted to sign Figo and he was supposed to be let for free. When we came in for Figo, Madrid placed a 2 million pound fee on him.
We could had offered Real Madrid 17 million pounds and they would want us to up that bid for Michael Owen. Last season when we sold him we wanted Juanfran to be included into the Owen deal. Instead we got Nunez who didn't play for Real Madrid's starting eleven at all.
Now Juanfran is on loan to Espanol. Do you see the pattern? So does who think that Benitez and Parry are at fault for not signing Owen then you might want to think about that. I would had liked Owen to play for us again but certainly not for us to break the bank on the player that left us last summer. We would had to pay double the amount and possibly even more just for Madrid to consider selling Owen to us.
A.B , you are a confused little boy.
Whats wrong with Real Madrid? They are just a better business football club than we are.
Form their point of view, why sould they let a player like Figo go for free when they paid 30+ Million for him?
Parry is at fault for letting Owen run his contract down to the final year, thus reducing the fee. and also the current situation is Owens fault too. he ensured we got peanuts for himself. Another Reason why he shouldnt be signed. The 8/9m difference in the price is down to MICHAEL OWEN and no one else.
And then at Real he was under contract and so the askng price went up.
i just think we are sh*te at business.

That team to me suggests he made the right move. He didn't let emotion into it and he'll benefit as your failure to strengthen and our sucess in strengthening immensely means we'll be much better than you this season.
You again ?
On here ?
Cant you take a hint lad ?
That looks a good team on paper, so what its managed by Souness, you imo have had better teams recently and still won f@ck all.
This year will be no different.
Lad if you fancy a day out take a look around the trophy room at Anfield, it is a magical tour.
I know thats the past but what a history....whats yours ?
I cant wait until you come crashing down to earth.

that lets you down boy, thats why your going nowhere.

Boumsong - immense with exception of 1 game.
Taylor - immense all season. Hasn't put a foot wrong. Best teenager defender in the league.
Both better than hyypia.
The feeling on tyneside is that Souness has our defence as good as it's been in years. Our main problem being scoring goals, and now that luque solano and owen are here i think it's been addressed.

best team we've had in years, by far. Each and every player on that pitch will give 100% and thats what Souness has brought us and what we were lacking before. Also we have a whole new and much improved midfield and our strikeforce doesn't need mentioning.
Reading Andy Gray's article this morning, he's astounded that Chelsea let parker go as he thinks he's the natural makalele replacement and has shown what a fantastic player he is to have in front of the back four.
So with our immense attacking options, which means Dyer and Bowyer will be on the bench, and Parker breaking up play in front of our defence and with the likes of taylor and boumsong back there, I don't see how you can argue that we're not a better team than you.
You have crouch ffs!

Crouch scored more than Shearer last year, and Shearer took pens as well and played in europe.

Ok yeah I guess its just man united he makes mistakes against like he did for you in the fa cup semis last season. Taylor? I dont know much about this guy but please dont tell me your talking about the same player that was tryna win an oscar award for his act on your goaline last season.
. Also you say your problem is scoring goals but I dont think that is the case seeing as your defence has let in 6 goals in four games. Are you blind to see that statistic and the problem with your defending and your defenders. Cmon ya Georgie lad get a grip mate.
Four of those goals game against Man UTD and Arsenal you pr*ck! Also vs arsenal we wrongly had 10 men!
The other 2 came at bolton, where Liverpool lost last season.
I rest my case on your ridiculous comment.
Regarding our 3 recent signings. They can help us score goals and get at teams instead of just soaking up pressure like we have been lately. When you have problems scoring like we did before these signings, it's always possible that a team can nick a goal or two. What you have seen from our first games is that we have dominated them. Possesion against Man UTD and even Arsenal at hiughbury before the sending off.
You'll see our new firepower take us to a new level, one which liverpool won't be on.

Shearer has done it consistantly for the last 10 years. You've signed Lurch based on one season. He's always looked poor to me.

By crashing down to earth i just mean into the real world, you are deluded if you think Owen will turn you into contenders.
Your squad is not even as good as it was under Keegan, the defence will YET AGAIN...be your undoing.
Why every Newcastle manager fails to sort out the defence is beyond me...they seem to want to have a team that scores goals but cant prevent them.
Looking forward to boxing day
I read a quote MO made yesterday saying when he was signing..." I've never seen anything like this " He was talking about the 20'000 screaming kids at St james's....i dont think he witnessed the 1,000,000 lined on the streets of Liverpool on May the 26th...get a grip Michael
Who is saying owen will turn us into title contenders?
You're forgetting we have also signed Albert Luque and liverpool target Solano is the last week!
Regarding our defence, read above you thick c*nt.

What has that got do with anything ?
He will give us a different option, and although it was only a friendly he didnt look out place in an England shirt...the largest Umbro have ever made.
