the thing is, we didn't need a full team.  Todays side was all over them...but lazy play and bad finishing cost us 3 or 4 goals.  Rafa look furious and i don't blame him

yea i can see your point, but instead of le tallec, if baros/cisse had started i think it would of bin a different story.

We didn't look ready today. Not really surprising though is it, on 13th July!! I'm a big fan of Moro, but he was dire today - not reading much into that as its nearly 6 weeks before the season starts. Stevie was well up for it today though - CGGY you're dead right about how important he is, and he clearly wanted to prove he's our boy toady. That is very reassuring. The 3rd goal was massive as the high altitude stuff Rafa had planned in Switzerland will not be disrupted much. Next weeks team will be mostly kids now. Ad the ES streaming worked tonight!

Saw the match myself on TV.

Steven Gerrard was by far and away the best player on the pitch. He was only involved in spells but he was the only Liverpool player that started who was able to up the pace.

I know this sounds harsh but I don't see much of a Liverpool future for Anthony Le Tallec and Darren Potter (sorry CGGY).

Steven Warnock, on the other hand, definitely has a bright future.

Xabi played very well in the first half before easing off in the second.

Morientes' form and fitness is worrying: his lack of pace was frightening.

Bolo Zenden looked very smart and efficient when he came on. More of the same Bolo! :)

Djbril Cisse came on and played right wing and looks to have regained a yard or two of pace.......he wasn't on long but his pace is exceptional.

Pepe Reina had almost nothing to do but he came out strong for a TNS corner/free kick in the first half and almost floored Riise, which is promising. He looks like an aggressive keeper to me. He only had the one (routine) save to make. His footwork looked good and he quickly recycled ball with his full backs.

3-0? So what. It was only our second pre-season game. We were never in trouble and Warnock, Le Tallec and Potter all got lengthy run outs. We were always going to suffer a bit of an anti-climax after Istanbul, so lets forget the 44 or so minutes of the second half in which our play was lazy and sloppy.

The only negative I'll take from the game was Nando's lack of sharpness. I'll keep an eye on this throughout pre-season. He is one player we BADLY need to hit form next season.

Jamie scored a goal against Middlesboro a few years ago only for the Premier League to take it off him and give it to Michael Owen. :D

Serioiusly, i was there! and a lot of people were disapointed on the whole, a good thing we scored 3, as 2-0 would have been a good result for them!

cant for the life of me understand why Rafa didnt play Cisse, Baros or Zenden to start. Le tallec and Potter are not gonna cut it im afraid. no class.

didnt put them under that much pressure really overall.

I a bit disappointed with the 3-0 score as we should have put the game beyond TNS reach with all the opportunites we had in front of goal. Fernando Morientes was unlucky a few times, even Rafa was eager for him to score. LeTallec didnt perform so well, but when Djbriliant Cissé came on, he combined rather well with moro. Gerrard and Alonso played well in CM but i'm quite disappointed with the amount of possession TNS had as they prevented us from playing a few times. I guess that Rafa will again be fielding a strong team in the second leg and let's hope this time we do show our real class as European Champions.

We should score more. Quite a number of chances not converted into goal. Cannot really measure ourselves today as we followed the opponent's game. Stevie was very alive. But, we had a good passing game.

Not sure if you were watching the same game lad but I thought that Alonso was incredible in the first hour of the game. Everything went through him, he must have had the ball at his feet twice as much as anyone else and you can count the times he gave away possession on one hand.

Don't get me wrong, well done Stevie on your first LFC hat-trick, i'm just sick to the teeth of the whole sensationalism regarding him. He was very good today but come on, take the blinkers off and give the others who deserve credit some.

I thought Zenden looked a good prospect. /He looks nimble on his feet and looks to have some pace about him. Also our new keeper looked ok. I loved the fact that as soon as he caught the ball he would throw it straight to one of our defence - good positive play.

I think we'll do good in the EPL this season, my only concern is Morientes. Not too sure about him yet.
