From BBC:

Liverpool are refusing to comment on reports that skipper Steven Gerrard is on his way to Spanish side Real Madrid.

Reports in Spanish newspaper As says Gerrard, 25, will be the latest to join the Galacticos at the Bernabeu.

The report quoted Gerrard as saying he is tempted to leave Anfield for Madrid during talks with Reds boss Rafael Benitez about his future.

However, Real's website says they have signed Uruguay midfielder Pablo Garcia, who is a similar player to Gerrard.

The report in As says Gerrard ruled out any chance of a move to Chelsea and that if he does depart Anfield it will be for a club outside England.

Madrid have brought in a high-profile name for the last five years and As says that they have earmarked Gerrard as this summer's big money move.

Christian Vieri just released from Inter Milan, might be a good signing if his wages are not so enormous.

I don't like all this Madrid :censored: surrounding Stevie :( It surely doesn't do him any good starting buildup for next season.

No one deserves it more!!!

MEDIA WATCH
  20K LURE FOR JAMIE
Daily Mirror 01 July 2005

Jamie Carragher is being offered a £20,000- a-week pay rise by Liverpool as reward for his outstanding form.

The defender's agent, Struan Marshall, met Anfield chief executive Rick Parry on Wednesday to open discussions about a two-year contract extension.

The talks were described as "constructive" and more are planned.

Carragher, 27, has two years left on his current £40,000-a-week deal and Liverpool want to keep him until at least 2009.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez believes Carragher would be worth every penny of his proposed pay rise and has hailed his converted centre-half as the best defender in England.

It is an amazing turn around for Carragher, who feared for his first-team place two years ago when Ireland full-back Steve Finnan moved to Liverpool.

Personally i think that Stevie G will stay at anfield, he has no reason to go he has won every major honour at anfield minus the league title, with benitez here i think we will win the league maybe not this season but with in the next couple of years. benitez is going to build the team around Stevie, Gerrard is very loyal he will stay, the hype around Gerrard is exactly the same as it was at the end of last season, i knew he would stay and i feel the same now also. :hearts

P.s nice to meet you guys i spent most of last night reading the forums, you guys seem to know what your talking about that why i signed up.
