Just heard that Kuijt isn't the only player of interest to us in Holland. I dunno who it could be and it sounds like :censored:

to me but maybe Rafa is going a little bit freaky-deaky dutch on us. I wouldn't get your hopes up as this is the same source that linked us to Kaka and Raul and even though this sounds more plausable, i'd take it with a pinch of salt. But hey!, this IS a rumour thread...

kezman was fantastic before the move to Chelsea. Most people here were moaning we missed out on him, and it is a possibility he could recover some form next season, especially with more confidence from the manager (though unlikely if we have cisse, moro, baros and kujit).

LIVERPOOL'S hopes of landing top striking target Dirk Kuyt have increased significantly.

Sources in Holland claimed the Feyenord striker had travelled to Liverpool to progress negotiations over his dream move to Anfield.

The Reds have been chasing the 29-goal striker for weeks, but the Dutch press reported today that chief executive Rick Parry had begun negotiations with Feyenoord and had actually enjoyed a meal with the player last night.

Nobody from Liverpool was available to comment, but Feyenoord are believed to have already lined up Middlesbrough's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as a replacement for Kuyt, who has publicly declared he wants to move to the European Champions.

Feyenoord rate Kuyt in the 10m bracket, but the Reds are hoping to persuade the Dutch to accept a player-plus-cash deal.

Reds' boss Rafa Benitez does have an extra £2m at his disposal, after the greatest player Liverpool never had quit Anfield for good last night.

Alou Diarra is the young French international midfielder whom Gerard Houllier brought to Anfield from Bayern Munich in 2002 on a free transfer. But he failed to play a single game for the Reds, being immediately loaned out Le Havre, then Bastia and finally Lens - whom he has now joined permanently in a four-year deal worth 1.98m to the Reds.

A lot players are better in certain countries than other, on a possitive, Van Persie, Bergkamp, Jimmy Floyd, etc were all great in Holland and also great in the EPL :;):

t is very easy for stapo1000 to say Kezman is , but I remember everyone saying the same about Forlan last season. Same goes for Jon Dahl Tommason at Newcastle but he hasn't done half as bad playing at AC Milan. Penguins is correct, he is not a flop and I want if stapo1000 is going to apologise if Kezman knocks 20 goals in Spain or manages to get a transfer to an English team and do that type of damage. Remember, Mourinho got it wrong with Crespo. If he had of know he was that good and kept him, that final might have been alot easier!!! Kezman is a form player just like Forlan. Forlan now plays all the time and scores all the time helping him to claim top scorer in Europe this year. If Kezman started every game, he would be just as prolific. My reason for not wanting him at The Reds is because he won't get to play every game due to Cisse and Morientes so what is the point. He might as go somewhere where he is first choice every time.

Yes Forlan is playing well but he's playing well in SPAIN not in England. Kezman played well in Holland but not in ENGLAND.

There's a difference. Kezman is not suited for the Premiership, it's just simple really

According to reports originating from Greece, Liverpool have signed Bolton midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos on a two-year-deal.
Speaking only last month, Bolton Chairman Phil Gartside issued Liverpool with a "hands off" warning following intense speculation that we were about to make a move for the winger.

At the time Gartside said: "We are not prepared to let him go. He's on a long-term deal and he is not for sale."

Gartside's words came on the same day that Giannakopoulos said: "All I know is that Liverpool have shown interest in me. I don't want to say anything more as right now I have a contract with Bolton. It's an honour for me and for Bolton to attract interest from Liverpool. We'll see what happens."

The 30-year-old (31 in July) 2million-rated Greek international scored eight goals in 38 games last season. Signed from Olympiakos on a Bosman in 2003, Giannakopoulos has a year left on his existing contract with Bolton. I'd like Stelios for the simple reason that he is a normal winger. We haven't had a normal winger for a long time, they all have a gimmick or a disability. Riise can hit one hell of a sweet shot, but sometimes his crossing lacks, Finnan only played a few of the earlier games on the right but was the anti-riise, good cross, sh!te shot. Kewell and Nunez both need a bullet or a labotomy and Garcia obviously prefers playing behind a striker. Warnock's still a bit young, Smicer is gone and Josemi is just plain cr@p. Stelios can dribble, cross, pass and shoot and he can do all these things well. The same goes for Zenden who I would welcome. Nothing particularly fancy, just good ability and commitment. So I say "bring me a shot of ouzo and pass round the ham and cheese toasties!" And of course, Viva La Rafalution!

LIVERPOOL'S imminent £8m capture of goal-keeper Jose Reina, has spelled the end of the road at Anfield for another big money shot-stopper.
Chris Kirkland has left the Reds to join West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan.

Rated the brightest young goalkeeper of his generation when he left Coventry for 6 million in 2001, he made just 45 first-team appearances - largely due to some wretched luck with injuries.

Kirkland looked like establishing himself as first choice under Rafael Benitez when he made 10 first team appearances last autumn. But a back injury interrupted his progress, let Jerzy Dudek back in, and he failed to figure again.

Agent Chris Gordon said last night: "Chris feels Albion and the Premiership is the place to be.

"It is an exciting opportunity for him at Albion. They will get a top quality goalkeeper.

"He wants to show that he is fit again and is ready to establish himself in the Premiership and as an England player. The World Cup finals next year are very much in his mind.

"The medical will hold no fears for Chris. He feels fantastic and has real confidence in his back for the first time in ages."

Kirkland came to Liverpool in 2001 in a 6 m switch from Coventry. But the imminent arrival of Jose Reina from Villarreal has effectively rendered him surplus to requirements at Anfield.

i just hope he has a injury free season and can show his worth,i think if injury free he will become the new england keeper,good luck to him if the deal becomes permanent.

It looks like rafa has f*ck all money to work with in the transfer market cos we cant seem to agree fees with feyenoord for kuijt or monaco for evra cos we keep offering players in part exchange when these clubs want money only

I know, its a bit worrying isnt it, think they are probably waiting for Stevie to sign TBH to see how much they have to pay him a week.
