Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt has admitted to skysports.com that he would welcome a move to Liverpool.

The European champions are thought to be very keen on the Feyenoord man, although they are yet to make an offer.

Kuyt, though, admits that he would love the chance to make the switch to Anfield.

"Liverpool have contacted Feyenoord but no bid has been made yet by Liverpool," Kuyt told skysports.com following Holland's 4-0 win over Finland on Wednesday.

"I would really want to go to Liverpool. It's a great club and I hope I can play for them."

Kuyt scored the third goal in Oranje's comfortable victory in Helsinki and that was a continuation of his excellent form from the past season which has seen him net 32 times in De Eredivisie for The Rotterdammers.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is known to be looking for a new striker and has been linked with the likes of Peter Crouch, Raul and Albert Luque in the last few weeks

I'm much more comfortable with players who want to play for us - OK I know most players looking for a move say that kind of thing, but some of our "targets" are quoted as saying things like Liverpool would be OK if I can't stay where I am.............. So I hope this is true, as long as most of the money comes from whatever we get for selling Baros

Seems we're probably going to sign Milito, but I think a decent left-back is more of a priority.

Anyone know if we've been linked with anyone.

Lad remember players coming from another league would be hard to fit in so don't expect that many goals from him.Southampton rejected our offer of 5 mil and i don't think he is worth more than a fiver never mind 5mill or highr

Yeah, and Benitez is now offering 6 million..As Soccernet reports,he is not chasing Luque.

I hope he is making the right choice.

Its girl, and I have no worries about Dirk kuijt coming to play for us, none what so ever, the weathers the same as Holland, he speaks very good english, Bergkamp, Van persie, Van Nistlehorse, Robben they are all sh.ite players arnt they?
I am 100% sure he will do the bizz for us if he comes Ive rated him for the last few months now, its not just cause his names been mentioned now.
the stats speak for themselves.
Kuijt for 8 million or Crouch for 7 mmmmmmmmmmmm........I know which one I would choose and it aint the lanky one.

Season          Club                     App        Gls.
2004/05      Feyenoord               34                29
2003/04      Feyenoord               34                20
2002/03      FC Utrecht              34                20

Now compare this to Crouch.

Very true, i actually find the dutch league is the closest thing to the premiership in europe, and holland do not accept rubbish players in their national team. GET DIRKY ON BOARD :D

I like the sound of this Dirk Kuyt but dont concentrate on that goal tally too much a certain mateja kezman comes to mind prolific scorer in the dutch league similar goal tally to kuyts but better but was has he done for chelsea this season? I wouldnt consider him just on his goals scored. Otherwise he does sound like a very capable player, has an excellent work rate, always in the right position at the right time, good eye for goal although seems to lack flair and pace

I don't agree about the LB being more of a priority. We have Warnock and Riise, and I don't expect Traore to be first choice for that position.

However we don't have any cover for our CB's, so signing Milito is a good idea imo. Hyypia may not be first choice, but non the less it's a good move.

Kezman scored more goals at PSV then Van Nistelrooy I believe but who'se had a better career in EPL?

Just because Kezman is a failure doesn't mean that every player comming from Holland will too.
