Kop go for raul

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Huck » Mon Jun 06, 2005 12:17 am

Here just one journal has reported this...and that one has been "Sport" a paper from Catalonia that supports Barça...Personally I dont think this is possible...If the president of the club happened to sell Raul or Casillas he would have to resign cos nobody could forgive him ever...Now there are some people criticizing him due to his poor last seasons but even them know he is the captain and  tough performing not so well as usual...he ALWAYS  dies in the pitch to defend the white shirt.

Anyway...no doubt about rejoining the partnership Moro-Raul would be awesome for u...whenever they play together they seem to enjoy the game, both know where is the other and what each one is gonna do in every moment.

P.S.- Real Madrid is not interested in Baros, what have we done to u?? please...sell him to other club!!  (just joking but I cant stand watching him failing once and again )

Sounds like you have written off D.Cisse before his career has even started at LFC.

Absolutely bloody right.

He is the highest ever goal scorer in Champions League history, and one of the best players in Europe for the last 10 years, and yet he is still only 27 (turning 28 in July).

Raúl was so fundamental in Real Madrid's 4 year period of European dominance from 1998 to 2002, winning 3 European cups.

Raúl has such GUTS, and is so technically gifted, with a furious hunger, desire and tenacity on the pitch, Raúl González Blanco is the REAL DEAL and is a DREAM captain, and a perfect example.

People that say negative things about Raúl haven't got a bloody clue, and definitely have not followed his career.

Though Raúl has had 2 poor last seasons with Real, it's no coincidence that those 2 poor seasons coincided with the departure of Vicente del Bosque, having 4 different coaches in 2 years, dealing with his marital problems, playing in 50 different positions, and being part of a ridiculous laughable Florentino Pérez system, which has included for example, in the 03-04 season, off loading 13 players and buying ONE so-called galactico, Beckham....

He is still young at nearly 28, and Latin players tend to go on forever anyway....

If Raúl came to Liverpool, I have no doubt that he would reignite the brilliance that made him one of Europe's finest....

Thats about all that needs to be said on the issue.

His last two seoasn have been mediocre, however a player like Raúl never loses his talent, he's still only 28 and defo still has got what it takes.

When Real last won the CL, you could've made an excellent argument for Raúl being the best striker in the world, he was that good. Players like this don't just go off the boil when they are in the prime of their career, he has proved himwself at the highest level in the last 10 years and would be a magnificent signing for us, the mere fact we are being linked with hin for me says everything about how far this club has come, and will continue to go under Rafa.

Its the the Benitez factor. The pioneers(Alonso,Garcia,Nunez,Josemi) have advertised Liverpool like mad.Remember, the four all came from seperate clubs and have plenty of ex-teammates who tell their ex-teammates who do the same.

LOL.Just like Friendster.

Seems like the boy is worried about the Spanish mafia................read the last line.

Raul rejects Reds rumours
by Peter ORourke

Raul has rejected reports that he could leave Real Madrid for Liverpool this summer.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Raul could become the latest Spanish star to make his way to Anfield to join Rafa Benitez's European champions.

It was suggested that Benitez wanted to team Raul up again with former Real team-mate Fernando Morientes in a new look attack for next season.

Raul endured a disappointing season with Real last term by his own high standards and rumours of a moves for new strikers such as Robinho and Adriano have raised doubts over Raul's long-term future at El Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish international has previously claimed he would quit Real if the club made it clear he was surplus to requirements.

However, Raul has moved to quash the speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool suggesting it would be complicated for him to move on.

“I’m not thinking about playing in England," said Raul.

"My future is in the Spanish league. It would be very complicated for me to go there.”

Raul is a big name player and his record speaks for itself. It's   very encouraging to see us linked with players like this. However, i do think the lad is carries a reputation that is greater than his talent. Before half of you jump down my throat, what can Raul do that makes him great?

My assessment reads: Very clever player (in the sheringham mould), great finisher, good link up play, two-footed, big game player. On the flip-side - Not particularly fast, not the type of player to beat a man, not very physical.

I don't have Sky so i'm no expert on Spanish footy so maybe one of you guys can tell me what Raul is all about.

Incidentally - I don't think there is much chance of him coming to the Pool. Not unless there are a shortage of takers for the lad.

Supersub, coming from a person of your knowledge of football, it is indeed a surprised.

Raul has had 2 seasons of medioctiry by his own high standards, but over-rated? Surely not. He became a world-class player at a very young age and had shown maturity well beyond his age. Everybody goes through this phase in life, for Raul (being a very high profile player that he is) is just that his exploits are very public. Real has been sufferring from having a vastly unbalanced side, and Raul has suffered.

It probably won't happen (Raul coming to Anfield) but compared to Raul, it would be our very own Cisse and Baros who are gorssly overrated, especially Cisse who was not worth anywhere near 14 million.
