Lets all thank Raul.

If it wasn't for raul last night then madrid would have had another nightmare. Woodgate was doing his best to get luxemburgo the sack. If that had happened, what would the madrid people have done? They would hav ecome for rafa.

Im not saying he would go immediately, hell, rafa knows that he could take that job in five years cos they change coach every year anyhow. My point is that it would de-stabalise this great club of ours. Another seoson of will he wont he (gerrard et al)

I mean we know the press, mainly london look upon liverpool as a club like totenham, big but sell to the big clubs of europe. So, they always make a story up to :censored: us off. Owen, Fowler, Macca, Gerrard and now rafa. They never start :censored: about Salford, Chelski.

Anyhow, i was watching last night and at 1-0 down i thought oh no! But then the magician raul started playing and thanking shanks upstairs, i went to bed knowing that the new great man rafa wouldn't be called by madrid just yet.

I watched this match last night.  Woodgate had a bit of a nightmare didn't he?  Looked a bit rusty.  Madrid were cack in the first half, when they scored though they looked very hungry and took the game to Bilbao.

I feel sorry for poor woodgate, the lad hasn't had a competitve game in 17 months and on a night were he wanted to impress everyone on his debut, he had the worst debut anybody could really ask for.

It really couldn't have been worse for him, could it!  Making his debut, scoring a OG and then being suspended for being sent off!

is it true that woodgate got his first yellow merely for having that ridiculous haircut? :D

His first yellow was for a very poor tackle that the co-commentator (Gerry Armstrong I think......) said he wouldn't have been surprised had the referee shown him a straight red.  He had a bit of a stinker of a match, but he hasn't played in nearly two years.

I think Woodgate is one hell of a footballer, let's see how long he can stay for now.

agreed.

ask any leeds fan who they rated higher. ferdinand or woodgate. i bet the majority would probably say woodgate.

if he can get fit and play regularly, he'll be in contention for a world cup place.
