West brom, southampton, norwich, or crystal palace - To stay up?

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby MilitiaRusher » Thu Apr 21, 2005 8:28 am

looking at the premiserhip table, west brom do have a slight advantage 1 point above relegation zone and 1 game in hand. however their run in are hardest amongst palace southampton and norwich. the other 3 are still very close in points and their run in looks more or less similar. if Harry Redknapp, Iain Dowie, Bryan Robson, or Nigel Worthington, pulls their team out (which means 1 out of 4), they would surely be contender for manager of the season.

Any other opinions?

Living down south i hope the Saints stay up although i fancy they will need to win as you can put your house on Pompey losing to West Brom. The only game you will hear all season in which the fans actually cheer when their team concede a goal.

as usual the fight for survival looks as though it is taking pole position in terms of drama this season!
when you're 4-0 up..
you should never lose 7-1

My prediction is that West Brom stays up:
Fulham 1-1 Norwich
Southampton 1-1 Manchester United
Charlton 1-1 Crystal Palace
West Brom 2-0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth fans would dearly want their team to lose so their south coast rivals will drop to the championship.

west brom stayed up, breaking the `whoevers bottom at xmas goes down hoodoo`. it really went to the wire this year and reminds me of the season when with twenty minutes left everton were down then someone else with ten minutes left were looking doomed until finally sheff utd, who needed a freak run of results to go against them considering the situation at half time finally went.
cisse is right southampton have always been a bogey side to us especially at the dell, but i couldnt help but feel sorry for the lad on the news with tears in his eyes. he looked in his mid twenties and saints have been up 28 years or so, so all he`s ever known was top flight footy, supporting a yo - yo side like palace is one thing but the drop must be tough to stomach for soton fans used to top division footy especially when you take into consideration the fate of sides like forest, west ham, leicester and derby who all looked decent outfits even when going down and are similar size clubs to saints but have struggled to return. not to mention leeds.
