Everton have finished above us three times in 35 years.  Perhaps we should allow them to enjoy it.

They will always be second best to us and they know it, how can anyone say 4th is better than the CL final ??? they are also under the impression they will be getting 20 million for 4th place, 2 million is nearer the sum. about 9 of them out of contract, moyes will probably raid the championship for Bent type players, as they are skint, the likes of drunken ferguson wont be able able to throw his weight around in europe or they wont be able to boot teams off the park like they do in the prem, cause european refs dont stand for it.
We shall see, how much europe takes its toll on them, then lets see how good they are.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

put it this way.

EVERTON WILL ONLY REALISE HOW SWEET THEIR CURRENT SUCCESS IS WHEN THEY FAIL NEXT YEAR.  :rasp

it's almost inevitable. look what happened to ipswich. they finished 5th and they thought that playing in europe would help establish them as a force. well that season they got relegated.

I know you'll all think I'm mad, but I think Everton deserve to play in the CL next year and even if we win it, we should not be allowed to take their place. We should be allowed a place as winners, but not at the expense of Everton.

I know Everton will struggle to get past the qualifying rounds (someone like CSKA Moscow or Shaktar Donetz would wipe the floor with them) but it would be patently unfair on the Bluenoses if we got a spot ahead of them now. True Liverpool fans know thats the way our club is run and while it would be wrong to bar us from defending the title (if we win it!) it would be equally wrong for Everton to be deprived of their place.

They got it fair and square.

Everton should not have to worry and should be allowed to enjoy their success. Our beef is with the FA and UEFA, not Everton.

Since the BBC and ITV lost interest in it: :censored: all. If you win the UEFA Cup and BBC or ITV covers a lot of the matches and you get decent crowds for most of the matches I reckon there's probably £8-10million to be made from it, or equivalent to getting to say the first round robin stages of the CL. Its not a whole lot but its better than a kick in the balls.

Regardless of the ifs and buts of qualification next year, we should be financially secure from this years run to cope with missing out next year.

Yes John: even getting to this year's final should roughly equate to two consequtive years of being eliminated in the first knockout stage, which by many club's standard's wouldn't be a bad season.

It could be worse: in 2002/03 we were knocked out in the group stages and then failed to qualify for the next season's competition.

at an estimate i'd say we'll have between £40-50m to spend this summer. manure must be well envious. being a plc, they've been told that they've got to sell before they can buy. as for the ar$e, they can't spend much as they're moving to a new stadium, unless they cash in and sell vieira.

this run has been a lifesaver for us, considering the financial losses made last year. arsenal have never got past the quarter finals of the champions league. since manure won it, they have won ONE knockout tie.

losers :p  :D

??? Seeing as it still isn't written in stone, who will represent the city of Liverpool in next years CL........ And Moyes is sure Everton are the better team......Why not a once off match between the 2 teams to decide who goes through?? Hell, we'd even play it in Goodison:p Gate receipts going to some worthwhile Liverpool charity!! Why not?? How's about it Dave:D

Congratulations to Everton for finishing higher than us, once in the last 22 years.

League wise Everton have been better than us this season. Overall, Everton isn't and will not be bigger than Liverpool despite what Moyes thinks. Cahill has been their "Gerrard" this season but I hate them and mostly David "Gollum" Moyes, the man is full of sh1t and he's a tit.
