Was appalled to see the midfielders passing back to the defenders
defenders passing all the way up to the strikers and the strikers losing the ball to the defenders,,,,over and over again,,,
reminds me of last year,,,,,
when we pass and move we have possession and create more chances on goal, any striker needs that service,,,,,
It's pretty simple, 4 defenders against 2 strikers, why would we bother firing the ball all the way up field with such a poor ratio,,,?
Funny you should mention this. Did you watch sky sports saturday this weekend?
They had statistics on which team in the prem played the most long passes. Bolton? Everton? No, ****** well us!
Why? In my opinion we have no midfielder apart from Gerrard (and Alonso though he's still out) who is comfortable about receiving the ball to feet from the defence and trying to create something.
Garcia can be superb, but other times can't help but lose the ball. Nunez and Riise prefer balls into channels rather than to feet. Kewell is the man with the ability to carry the ball but has done nothing.
We badly need a playmaker who can link midfield and attack. Be that a wide player or a second striker I'm not sure, but this is something we have lacked since as far back as McManaman (and I'm not saying resign him coz he is finished)
