Last night's performance was disappointing to say the least but we need to put it behind us and move on. The derby on sunday is the biggest derby in years. Infact I'd go as far as to say that it is potentially worth somewhere in the region of £20m to the winners. It is time for the fans to really get behind the team. A certain individual has been on here today slagging off the supporters which is uncalled for. At the end of the day, regardless of support, the players have to produce on the pitch, and last night they failed to do this.

We the fans are most tested during tough times. It's easy to get behind the team when everything is going well but the fans as a whole are tested during in tough times. A very good and rare away performance in the Champions League raised many hopes up mines included and we sort of put the fact that we are inconsistant in the Premiership behind us hoping that we would go on a run.

But that's just it, we're inconsistant and unpredictable. I very much understand the frustration but in these tough times as fans we have to stick together and keep our heads as high as possible. Just when we least expect the team to get a result they come out of nowhere and perform. We face Everton on Sunday and not only is it a battle of pride but it's a battle for fourth place that is hanging in the balance. Sure Everton are ahead by seven points but they are in no better form than we are, the team that is less inconsistant than the other will get the fourth place.

Last night's sort of performance shoots your hopes as a fan down however I wouldn't write us off. We have been in these situations before and we know that we have to win on Sunday if we have any plans of qualifying for the Champions League next season. We're miles away from the likes of Chelsea because not only do we not have good enough players we fail to play as a team consistantly and that has to be changed this summer.

Players that have a bleak future at this club can be named easily:
-Baros
-Gerrard
-Biscan
-Kewell
-Smicer

We need to perform as well as we can in the CL in order to collect the funds we need for the summer, the possible sale of Baros and Gerrard will helps us in the transfer market plus the chairman is expected to dig up some money from his own pocket.

People seem to forgetting that 90 percent of this squad are Houllier's players, even the signing of Djibril Cisse was done before Benitez ever got here. Some are comparing Houllier's fifth season with Rafa's first !? We dare not forget that Benitez has been here less than a year.

Bring on Everton and Moyes, we are not to be scared of them, it will be a difficult game as any other previous derby but this is the time when we all doubt that we can get result only to be shocked by the outcome which is usually a good one for us.

Good point.Although the Blackburn game was poor,it has happened and we need to put full attention on the Everton game.

Perhaps we might have a better chance of beating Everscum if we were to challenge them to a basket ball game ?..then again we might have difficulty in finding that net!! :laugh:

Right, in what way was it un called for, it was the biggest game of our season so far, and certain fair weather fans decided they had more important things on than supporting the team. I questioned wether the same thin would have happened had the game been seen as more glamerous. The answer is a resounding YES.

The reason it is as big is because we never made up ground on Everton when we played Blackburn on Wednesday night. As I said, our most important game of the season. Surely using your own logic, THIS was the time for the fans to really get behind the team as you put it?

In exactly the same way, it is the times when everything is not going well, or the cold midweek games that mean driving straight from a twelve hour working day to show your support, that the team needs its fans. This was my point.

By the same token, at the end of the day, the fans who where desperatly clamouring to get their hands on tickets for Cardiff just a week before, had to produce the goods when the chips where down, and go and support the team against lesser opposition. Wednesday night they (the fans) failed to do this.

Steven Gerrard, the best midfielder of his generation and our talisman last season, and a great help this is in for a bleak future?
Milan Baros, our leading goalscorer this term, and the golden boot winner at Euro 2004 just a short while ago has a bleak future?

No. We must do as much as possible to win as we are Liverpool Football club, the greatest team England has ever produced, proud of our history, and nothing else will ever bee good enough for the club, the players, the team and the fans.

Obiviously it would however there are still nine games to be played, and with that being said I personally believe we can get something out of those games in order to secure the fourth place.

You misunderstood. It's not that any of us want us to see Gerrard go it's the signs that have been shown that he wants to go himself. We were involved in another sage before, and during that time I was positive that Owen would stay only to be shocked in the summer.

When a player says that he has to reasses his future at the end of the season it doesn't sound that he has any intentions on staying very long. His rescent performances say to me that he's made up his mind. I don't have a crystal ball nor am I an expert for body language but I don't see Gerrard staying. It's not that I don't want him to stay it's that the chances of him staying are very slim.

Baros while he is a our leading goalscorer seems to have some problems with the Boss. I don't know what goes behind closed doors but Rafa benched him against Chelsea in the Carling Cup final and it seems that Baros is only concerned about himself. I wouldn't be saying this a month ago but Baros has not proved himself after "his disapointment when he was benched".

13 goals in some 25 + games is certainly not impressive for a player who was the top scorer in Euro 04.

Once again I say that it's not that fans want us to sell Gerrard and Baros it's that rescently things have not looked well as far as their future at this club is concerned.

While Gerrard and Baros may be one of our best players in order for us to ever play as a solid unit selling Gerrard [if he wants to leave which seems to be case] could possibly make us a better team.

Why would I say such a thing? Well because the fact when Everton sold Wayne Rooney[their best player] afterwards they've played better as a team.

When Juventus sold Zidane they too began to play better as a team and won more things.

The same could happen to us, if we want to buy more world class players then it would be wise to sell Gerrard if he wishes to leave in the summer. He's a great player, he has played extremely well in these past few seasons however the form he has been in now is only a shadow of the form he was in earlier this and whole last season.

I am not confident that either Baros or Gerrard will stay at this club.

Leon don't get me wrong, I would be gutted if Gerrard was to wear another club colour however I am not certain that he will stay.

Him leaving however will not be the end of the world, his departure could lead us to becoming a better team. The money from the sale of Gerrard plus along with other players,etc.. could help us sign more class players that we need in our squad.

Do you want to have two or three class players or possibly a dozen of them ? His performances and comments have not convinced me that he will stay.

I defended Baros a couple of weeks ago but this whole issue between him and Benitez once again show that he may be given the boot in the summer.

If Baros scores twice, and gerrard once on Sunday and we beat Everton soundly, I bet none of these type of posts will be gdoing the rounds.

Nothing personal with you AB, just that this is the typical response after a few "quiet games" from some of our players.

I understand you may think that those two particular players may not be here next season, but the question is do you want to keep them?

I'd keep them if they pledge their future here for a long term. Will that happen with Baros and Gerrard? Gerrard wants to reasses his future at the end of the season after signing a contract with us in the summer and Baros is dreaming of playing with Barca who if were to come knocking on the door he would go without any hesitation.

I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

Is it not the same thing here?

We should be telling Stevie how much we love him, and then if he still decides the grass is greener, at least we tried, at least we gave it OUR best shot.

I understand what you are saying but why would I want to be with my missus if she wants to be with somebody else? If she no longer believes that she can be with me and wants to move on than she should.

Same thing here, if Gerrard has already made up his mind and has every intention of leaving then so be it. Certain comments he's made has gotten me to believing that he would leave, at first I didn't think he would but a lot has happened and I like many others including yourself are quite tired of it.
