Losing to Arsenal in last minute which cost us the league and the double was one of worst along with FA cup defeat to the wombles. What made it worse is in hindsight it was beginning of the end of great dynasty and it only took me about 10 years of denial before i finally realised it :(

My worst memories involve the F.A. cup.......

1985 F.A. cup semi final defeat to United after we had gone 1-0 up.
1983 F.A. cup defeat to Brighton (and Jimmy Case).  It was Bob Paisley's last chance of winning it.
1996 F.A. cup final defeat to United.  The display was awful.  There was great talent in that side but had no desire.

Notts Forest in the European Cup 1979 I was really gutted  :(

Arsenal was just unbelievable shock, couldnt quite believe it

The white suit final as well more embarrassed than anything else as I truly thought we would play as flamboyantly as our suits  :D

The one and only time I went to Wembley - indeed the one and only season I had a season ticket.  :(   :(

Has to be arsenal 89, the only time I actually cried about after a game.

Wimbledon 88 is a close second.

I am too young to remember 1977 final against Manu but even watching the clips they seem so poxy.

good memory you`ve got there sean...
regarding the brighton match, i`m sure phil neal missed a pen (that we didn`t deserve) as well, which didnt make it any easier. in fact we lost a couple of times to brighton in the cup in the early eighties i seem to remember. i remember losing away at chelsea in the cup when they were in the old second division and a player called clive walker had a stormer against us.
back in those days it was always fa cup matches that seemed to be the sickeners.

Agree it has to be Michael Thomas's goal at Anfield to steal the title away to Highbury. It doesn't get any worse than that unless your a Bayern Fan.

Losing to the Wombles comes a close second.

The 96 final didn't hurt in quite the same way simply coz it was one of the worst games of football i had ever seen in my life.

I think i actually felt worse a couple of years later (someone might be able to tell me the date) when we went out to 2 late goals against the skum (Solsjaer did the damage i recall))in one of the early rounds of the F.A Cup. It was fairly early on into GHs reign and i remember him promising Liverpool fans 'we will beat United one day' after the game - He was certainly right about that.

You mean cus you only started suppoting Liverpool last year you muppet.  :D

Do me a favour and jump off a cliff that way you can get rid of your ignorance, arogance and stupidity all at the same time you muppet. I've been supporting LFC for more than year however I did not see as many games as I have this year.

Go back to smocking crack in your cave and humping everything that moves f#cking tumbleweed.

It seems that its that time of the month where LeonMcSh1t gets moody and posts his regular sh1t on here. So f#cking predictable, I cam smell it a mile away. Got that spoiled egg odor that won't go away.

No they need two clear goals to beat us. After the Alan Smith goal (which appeared offside), we hang on there comfortably until the final minute when out came Michael Thomas...
