Garcia on life in Liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Don't know about English football adapting to high-skill players; when in Scunthorpe on a wet and windy Saturday in January etc. Garcia is going to get hit and stay hit. He's going to get his feathers ruffled both fairly and unfairly. All of which is legitimate in my view, part and parcel of the game.
The determination and the ability to overcome this, to ride the tackle not jump out of the way and to keep your balance and not fall over will define him as a man. His football ability will define him as a footballer. Put the two together, and hopefully by next season we will have a star on our hands. I for one think he will be a fabulous player. Has to learn to take the knocks though.

I was wondering if football pros in England do regular lifting. It would probably bulk the players up nicely so that they can take the tackles. Can anyone comment on the lifting regimen these players are on if any?
Mourinho was customizing his flashy blue racing car -- applying the finishing touches of go-faster stripes, aerodynamic spoilers and a fat f@ck you exhaust -- while on his red car, Benitez was trying to glue together a broken chassis, repair bodywork and replace burst tyres.

its all different for different players, different clubs and different fitness levels. Even the type of food eaten will change the type of lifting done. Everything si a science now and all players need to be at the hieght of physical perfection to play. Also a player like garcia will do less lifts as he needs more agility.

this article just goes to show that there is obviously a lot on luis garcia's plate at the moment. Life must be quite difficult for the guy at the moment. As others have said i think he will come good, because though he has been frustrating and just downright poor sometimes, he has shown flashes of pure genious and flair, something we havn't had in a player in a long time.

Life will come good for him if he plays in the centre rather than on the wings......

I would rather see less heavy tackling and more high skill from players. Passion is not an excuse for thuggery. I do not think that these high skill players should adapt to English football. I think English football should adapt to high skill players.

I agree with you so much, most people just say the premiership is fast and physical...it's really just primitive and needlessly violent.
