anyways, duarte wont be going to southampton, they refused to let him go on trial there according to skysport.com

Estoril have rejected Southampton's approach to take Rui Duarte on trial.
The Saints along with Liverpool are believed to be keen on signing the highly-rated defender.
Southampton are thought to have asked Estoril to take Duarte on trial before following up their interest in the full back.
Estoril do not believe that Duarte needs to go on trial to prove himself and are only interested in selling him.
Estoril president Antonio Figueiredo has admitted that Duarte is likely to leave the club with England his most probable destination.
Should Southampton firm up their interest they could take the defender to St Mary's before the close of the transfer window.

we dont need a full back as much as a centre half. bringing in pelle at this stage of the season and starting him insuch a crucial game was a bad decision by rafa after he was in the valencia reserves for the last 6 months but thats irrelevant. lets hope the chairman goes crawling back to steve morgan and begs him to invest so we can buy big in the summer and get a whole new defence except carra and finnan. i dont know if this duarte is the answer and i'd perfer if we bought an established full back
