The youngsters fooled us in a way. On LFC.tv two days ago Rafa said that he was going to use young players, did anybody bother to read that?

Why is it such a shock? The youngsters made a good impression on us and the manager thats why they played today but they got caught up in their own fantasy world as they thought they would win without trying, their ego's were too big for their own boots.

They had no desire and no passion to win the game, end of. You can't blame Benitez for something like that.

When we fielded a strong side against Watford, some said it was unfair to leave the youngsters out after doing so well in the previous rounds against some strong premiership teams. But when we lost with them youngsters playing, you moan "...oh, disrespect to the cup/tradition"? fcukin'ell you think we have a depth of squad like Chelsea? Think we should field Stevie, Baros etc so we win this game and risk more injuries? Think Rafa will come out and say..."oh yeah, the kids play sh!te, what a shamble. They will never make it to the first team football again"...? Of course he defended the team in public and that's what you will read in the papers but Rafa ain't stupid!
As St.Mike rightly pointed out yesterday, we played the most number of games this season (equalling ManUre?) compared to any premiership side and the only opportunity to field and test them youngsters are in the domestic cup games, otherwise, when will we breed the next Stevie, Fowler etc?

Fair enough we lost, but for those anti-Rafa brigate to come out and says he is the wrong man for the job, time to get back to your cave...real world must be harsh on you and you obviously couldn't appreciate quality even if you see one. Nuff said!

I think the FA cup doesn’t mean as much to the supporters who don’t live in the UK. I’m not getting at them because they don’t live in Britain; the more support Liverpool gets from abroad the better. I live in Northern Ireland so I only get a few times a year but I grew up watching the FA cup and to me it matters. At the final whistle it was all I could do to control myself not to launch the remote into the TV. It was the performance of the team that hurt so much, if they had tried or played well and got beaten then fair enough but that was gutless and a dishonour to the many great players who have worn the famous red in the past. I’m gutted

I hope this result wakes up all of our players. Aston Villa got a good smack in the face in the FA cup and they started to get their act together in the Premiership, I can only hope that we do the same. The game was just awful without a doubt and our players  showed no passion however we would had lost in this competion sooner or later and gotten our key players injured, our luck is that bad.

Since I lived in London for 11 years and abroad for 28 years, I guessed I am qualified to see things from both ends...

For those of you who don't live outside GB, please don't assume those outside of GB don't appreciate the prestige of the F.A Cup. The FA Cup final (and the semi-finals) used to be the most important and talk-about match(es) of the football season and are always caused a buzz to the fans on the street. More bets are placed on those matches than the rest of the regular season. But when the English teams made inroad and be successful in the European Cup (now Champions League) UEFA Cup and CWC, the F.A Cup takes on lesser of the prestige and importance. Clubs are nowadays managed like a business concern, do you think the board of the top 4 clubs (consists of mainly British) give more importance to doing well in the CL or the FA Cup?

However, a bad performamce is a bad performance no matter if it is a league game or cup tie. I didn't managed to catch it on TV yet...just as well...

Just my 2p!

Typical in every result. Winning= praised up to the sky. Losing= cursed down to hell.
Why not see it as big scenario? Let face it win and lose are part of the long journey. And let Rafa does the job.

it is the same when we lost to chelsea... i feel hurt but not dissappointed.. becoz we played our best.. it is when the team played with no spirit and pride and lost, i am realli dissappointed.. as a player wearing liverpool jersey , they have to show the pride, goin in to tackles wholeheartedly..
it is all wat liverpool is abt.pride and passion to win!

Frustrated. All I can say. It's a big cup. All time big cup. I think English FA Cup is the next to the World Cup. And I am no Briton. But, that's the feel of winning FA Cup, as I used to see in the old these Liverpool used to win. I think Rafa need to do lots of thinking. I want to blame him but his frustration did surface on his face as he left the ground. I just watched the game on TV far far away in the other side of the globe. Still I woke up at 4 a.m. in the morning just to see the team I supported from my childhood to play in the big Cup. Even I had some big meetings in the office today, but yet, I want to watch Liverpool's game. Our youngsters are not that bad. They played quite well. But the fact that we lost due to 1 own goal, to me, is very dissapointing. It shows that our forward line cannot create the goals to win the game. If we scored 1 own goal but we scored 3 more on the other side, we still win right ? S***. It's very difficult for me to think that we are fighting for the 4th. spot, which we might never get. Morientes alone cannot do the job. When the forward cannot score, then the defenders will score own goals..... S****d Traore.. sell him to junk yard.....

I don't think rafa had any other choice. We have so many injuries at the moment the last thing we needed was to play a full strength side and get injuries to more key players.

Don't get me wrong i'm gutted that we've been knocked out but as it looks like rafa may not have the cash to bring in anymore players until the summer surely the priority should be the CL next season so we have cash to improve the team/squad.

One thing that came out of lastnight was that Nunez who i thought was doing well for us still needs time to take in that the english game is alot more physical than anything he's been used to. And that Biscan is resigned to leaving the club.
