Igor to stay! - Yesssssss.....get in!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Devestatin Dave (yeah) » Thu Jan 06, 2005 5:40 pm

Liverpool midfielder Igor Biscan has told Liverpool he wants to stay with the club to help their injury crisis.
Biscan, 26, had been linked with a move to Southampton and was left out ofLiverpool's squad for the victory at Norwich earlier in the week.
But the Croatian international has insisted he does not want to leave.
Manager Rafa Benitez confirmed: "Igor will be staying with us. He has said he wants to remain here and I am happy with the player's attitude."

f*ckin made up!!!

the fact that Benitez keeps preferring Diao over him though makes this even more puzzling a situation.

Come on Rafa!!  Give Igor A Chance.

The lad has been an absolute total proffesional throughout the whol of his time at this club, I just hope he continues to take his chances and then establishes himself as a real good squad player with the club.

Despite being villified at centre half by fans, the butt of many jokes and played out of position all the time by GH, he has never shouted his mouth off, never gone to the press and never said a bad word about anyone involved with the club.

I really think the guy is an absolute GEM.

IMO it's particularly because of rafa hasn't meet the desired price OR Rafa thinks there is still some space in Biscan to build on, otherwise -being honest, Biscan is presently not a player with the expected quality to rebuild the Liverpool glory.

Jim, think hes been injured recently and id be gutted to have seen him go without the send off he deserves, the mans a cult hero and hes played really well this when hes been in the side and its a far better option to have him there instead of the dire diao.....and Rafa says he likes Igors attitude so that bolds well for him in the future when hes back fully fit

(to the tune of "This old man)

2 nil down
4 2 up
Igor Biscan wrapped it up
And he didnt what to do when he scored that goal
Igor Biscans are hero!!!!

I'm glad hes staying, we need the extra cover in midfield at the moment and hes determined to prove his critics wrong with displays like the one at Deportivo

I would like to see the back od Diao though he is utter SH*TE

to be honest Biscan is very professional and has a superb attitude and he does give it his all but I dont think he is the type of player who will restore our glory days, I dont think he is good enough to play for a Top Four Premiership team :(

I dont think anyone is saying that though, its the depth he adds to the squad and lets face it, hes not as bad as what most people thought. His a bit like Carragher in respect he can play many positions.

I agree hes not a world beater, but i think there is something there.

Its the Diao's etc in this world we need shot of.

Biscan > Diao, end of discussion. I rather see my grandmother play on the pitch than Diao, Biscan on the other hand has been improving under Benitez and I'm just waiting for the day when he scores a crucial goal for us, this is his chance.

I was delighted when I heard Igor is staying. After seeing him perform this year, against Deport especially, I really want to see him given a chance to prove to us that he was worth the money. Remember when we signed him, we beat of competition from some of the best teams around so he is certainly no dud :)

I think the abuse we all hurled at Biscan last year has almost been replaced by an affection for the fella ! :p  he's made a couple of half decent appearances since the end of last season and suddenly he's the loser we all love . :D   :D
What a bunch of b'stards we sometimes are .

Igor was always played as a defender by Houllier  and  it  wasnt his position ,so he looked pants.

Raffa plays him in his natural position and he is a different player !

The fact that he has said he wants to stay even tho Valencia and others are interested in him (and he would probably play more games ) goes to show what sort of bloke he is........really principaled . I really take my hat off to Igor , the man deserves real respect for this.
