Igor to stay! - Yesssssss.....get in!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Sorry to burst the euphoric bubble here but Igor satying on the basis of being professinal and not bitchin to the press is not my idea of good enough reasons for keeping him ???

Compared To Diao is not exactly flattering Biscan.

And the old chestnut about being played out of position somehow excusing his distinctly average performances for Liverpool is clutching at straws.

The Carling Cup games aside and the Deportivio game , ohhh and a few pre season friendlies does not IMO mean he should stay.

Just an opinion but there you go. I've formed this opinion based on countless performances i've watched with him in the side and he is not good enough for a side with aspirations to win the title .

Despite being villified at centre half by fans, the butt of many jokes and played out of position all the time by GH, he has never shouted his mouth off, never gone to the press and never said a bad word about anyone involved with the club.

I really think the guy is an absolute GEM.

absolutley spot on Leon, Igor is a class act.

i am not necessarily advocating he is a class act on the pitch, but off it he has been a model professional.

You are right in saying that this not a reason for keeping him. With Alonso out at the moment that leaves us with Hamann, Gerrard and Biscan, and perhaps Welsh (not going to mention Diao). Igot has shown that he is a decent aquad player, bothing more, but unless we sign Aimar then Igor has definatley got a job to do at this club iat the minute.

He is definatley not a long term fix who is going to lead us to glory, but as a backup centr mid he is decent for now. Hiopefully Rafa can nurture his talent and he can become a useful squad player, although in a few seasons with *fingers crossed* Gerrard, Alonso and perhrpas ghuys like Aimar at the club, as well as Welsh coming through the ranks he may no longer be needed, but for me he can still do a job for us, but if we are relying on him as a regular starter then we are in a bit of trouble.

What a bunch of b'stards we sometimes are .
As me old mum used to say "If the wind changes yer face will stick like that"

you must be f*ckin kiddin igor biscan is probably the worst player to wear the famous red shirt since garry abblet.a couple of half decent games doesn't make him a good player. i bet yer the groan's of dispear from inside anfield when he decided to stay, could be heard at the pier head.how on gods green earth are we going to make progrees as a team with players like him.the man is totally useless.the people on this forum,at times, make me shake my head and wonder.if they had seen the great liverpool teams of the past they would realise the type of players we need, are players with  true quality, thats what's needed to win championships and european cups.certainly not players like igor biscan.now com'on get a life.

Well whilst I don't tend to express my views in quite so stronga  way as you do i agree with the esentiment.

Sadly sentiment and respect doesn't win you football games and Biscan has had long eniough to prove his credentials. I know we have several players out at present but using Biscan is NOT the answer, neither is Diao but for reasons known ONLY to Benitez he gets games !

I'm going to the Burnley cup game and expect to see a few of the youngsters play. Particularly like to see Welsh and I think he may play Whitbread too.

However , Burnley are no mugs and beat Villa 3-1 in the carling Cup this season so caution required .....

the first divison sides are often very tough, as the Cup games against the likes of us are their big games for the season as they want to prove that they are capable of beating Premier league opposition.

                     Harrison/Dudek

Raven    Whitbread      Carra       Traore

Nunez      Biscan         Welsh       Garcia/Warnock

                 Mellor/Pongolle     Baros

I think that is the sort of side we should field.

mate I am only 18, so is it my fault I am too young to have seen the great Liverpool sides? I think not.

But i understand where you are coming from, as it is frustarting to have been the best in Europe for man years and see the comparitive struggle that has occurred over the last decade.
