bigmick wrote:When you say it leads nicely onto your next point I'm not sure I follow. If I'd said , 'sponsored by IKEA' then I'd be with you, empty seats and all that. If I'd said  'sponsored by NASA' then I could go with it, no atmosphere and all that. Or 'sponsored by the British Library' as it was so quiet. But Easyjet and empty seats? Nah don't work for me mate sorry.
Its a bit like that Alanis Morrisette song when she lists all those things and says "isn't it ironic?". By far the most ironic part about the whole song is that none of them were. Sad really. Good effort though mate.

sorry mick. midweek games are always bad for attendance.

the atmosphere was rubbish yesterday and was the performance.  quiet yesterday.  worse of it was the fact that ppl on this forum think we can still finish in the top 3.

i reckon o2 or stella

If one of the airlines sponsored us we might get a couple of flying wingers and then we could really take off.  (sorry)
The way we are playing at the moment, Specsavers looks a good bet.

Its irrelevant who sponsors us so long as we get the best deal possible, although if one was to have a moral conscience about it all, most kit manufacturers have blood on their hands.

I cannot believe that people are talking about companies and corporate logos in terms of trendiness!

I take it no one has read No Logo then.  ???  ???

Naomi Klein. Excellent book, would make you think twice about buying replica football kits, I'll tell you.

Diaponeer: you're beginning to surprise me mate!

I'm no anti-globalisation freak, but I like to see both sides of an arguement.

Greg Palast's book isn't bad at all, read Noam Chomsky's "Hegemony or Survival" or forthe other way of looking at thingsl, Niall Ferguson's "Colossues".

michael moore isnt a good as others out there. he just raises issues, the others get the detail and present their arguement better

Gotta agree with you with Moore he uses very selective evidence to draw up his conclusions he has a powerful agenda of his own so his vested interests are in his book and film sales
Dubya is a T1T n i cant stand his and 'conserbative middle America's' view on things.
Globlaisation is kinda messed up
Starving Africans farming green beans to sell to the West not Wheat n corn to feed themselves :(

Michael Moore is a fool, a self aggrandizing half wit.

It annoys me seeing students read his books on buses and harp on about how great he is. His books are Lady Bird coloring books, and he demeans the issues he raises with his childishness and self interest.

I know this is kind of going off topic but I think that the issues are important given the context of new shirt sponsers. Ok, I'm hypocritical and I'd take the money from anyone if it meant filling the club's coffers, but there are a couple of companies out there who have blood on their hands and I wouldn't like them to have anything to do with Liverpool FC.

I'm also amused and slightly annoyed by people who talk about corporate sponsors in terms of trendiness: try telling people in Latin American sweatshops that Coca Cola looks trendy on a red Liverpool shirt.
