They are losing Pep, Silva and Rodri at least and with punishment coming I cannot see how they will compete next year. Arsenal will be the dominant force and only us to compete with them. Manure are manure and Chelsea are all over the place. I cannot see anyone else.

Love the confidence Kazza  I do think Arsenal will be clear favourites but doubt it will be us sweating them. Think it will take us a while to gel tbh although id gladly be wrong. As much as its killing me to say it but I think Manure will be up there with Arsenal pushing them. Carrick has done well and they have picked up lots of points since he's come in. If that continues over a season then they will challenge. Villa could also take advantage of the managerial changes also.

I just think ourselves City and Chelsea will be inconsistent due to adapting to a new style and gaffer.

I think Carrick has had a bounce with the team after they got rid of an unpopular manager since the team has a fair few toxic characters. They never looked good and squeezed by a lot of times. I think as long as you have Fernandez in the team he’s liable to poison the air. I think they have quite a few average players and an average manager. CL which they never had last season will stretch them this season.

So City found guilty and will appeal.

I think they are just going to get a fine and points deducted.

That would probably mean a free title to Arsenal this season though. That scum deserves to be punished but sadly we will probably not benifit from it and our rivals will.

That article appeared in the German press back in 2018, we are nearly in 2027 and City are apparently going to appeal, by the time this thing is finally sorted this is going to have taken over a decade - a decade!

This City thing does throw up some interesting questions, look at the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher etc etc the history books show they missed out on the title by 2 points but those 2 points were thrown away against Palace when we were 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go and decided to go into kamikaze mode in an effort to claw back some of City's superior goal difference.
As far as i'm concerned we lost that title by goal difference,  no way would you literally throw every man forward and have no defenders when 3-0 up away from home in normal circumstances. If City's superior goal difference wasnt affecting our decision making we would have comfortably seen that game out and finished on 86 points too.
According to reports in the media that 2013/14 season lies within the 3 year period when City's rule breaking was supoosedly at its height.
How different would Rodgers career have been if it was him who won our first title in donkeys years and not Jurgen? He could argue City's shenanighans cost him not just financially but cost him a place in the history books.
Who knows what would happened if we would have won the league that year, maybe the owners would have went big in the transfer market, maybe the likes of Suarez and Sterling would have stayed? Gerrard probably still has sleepness nights over that season. City's shenanighans have opened a can of worms here.

This is where it is going to get confusing, many clubs will jump on ship for a compo stating how they could've picked more financial incentives etc...

I don't know how the process works but is the punishment after the appeal??

If they're relegated, will the players stick around.... This will definitely change the dynamics in the league.

Not only the financial cheating, it’s the elephant in the room which is all the poor refereeing decisions they consistently got to help them win all those titles. They found a new way to bribe referees and the made the most of it. Honestly a disgraceful team that felt it fair to cheat their way to glory and if it wasn’t for some hacker that was repulsed by this then no one would have found out and they would have got away with it.

As for Pep the saint, he got caught twice taking steroids as a player, he was the manager of Barcelona when they were sanctioned for bribing referees and now this.

Looks like they inflated their income from sponsorship by more than 900m quid allowing them to spend more on players, they broke FFP rules 9 years on the bounce and used blag contracts to hide their financial skullduggery.
Jurgen is just going to become even more of a  legendary figure now, pipped to the title twice by a single point, Brendan should have won the title too.

They are screwed. People will be doing jail time for the stuff they’ve have done.

I mean, we all knew they were cheats, it's not like that's some news to us. They've been cheating for almost two decades now, so it's incredible that it's taken this long for someone to go after them. We lost titles in the process because they were allowed to cheat their way to success. We might be the ones with most damage taken because of these frauds, and the authorities are as much at fault for allowing them to get this far. Like kaza said the questionable ref decisions going their way should also not be forgoten.

Anyway, someone did the maths, if Forest were deducted 4 points for 1 charge, Everton 8 for 2 charges, Reading 18 points for 3 charges etc, Man City should get at least 456 points deducted for their 114 charges lol. They were also uncooperative and denied the charges whereas everyone else admitted their guilt. City should be dropped to League 2 tbh, plus a fine plus transfer ban, even stripped of titles. I would love to see it but it would probably be much less than that.

I'll be surprised if they are allowed to keep their trophies after a statement as damning as the Premier League's one, they used the word sham 8 times!!
