And we've the Bitters next. You just know they will hurl themselves into everything to twist the knife further. I can see us losing that one as well

I wish he'd just play Wirtz as a 10 and stop messing him around on the LW. Hes not got the pace for that! Hes a link up player and hes wasted out there.

Macca looks like he just doesn't want to be there any more. In fact so do quite a few of them. The writing is on the wall - lean years ahead without substantial investment, and can we really do that again this summer?
There are signings needed in almost every position. No reliable RB, they're always injured. On the LB, it looks like we'll have Tsimi back and that's not inspiring. Our CM is just not hard enough and doesn't have the quality needed. On the wings we've one lad who's finished, on the other side complete inconsistency. Up front, Hugo seems to be very quick to check out of games and I'm personally not convinced by Isak.
Yeah, pi$$ed off tonight, but I kinda have been since the start of this season and I'm not convinced we'll make the 5th CL spot this year. Gonna be hard to attract quality if we're playing Thursday night football.
And someone please tell me where da fook Danns, Bajcetic and all the other messiahs are!!

First half we were shyte and tried giving this one a go in the 2nd, sadly just couldn't score. I wasn't surprised when we conceeded, we're poor defensively. Overall though psg worth winners.

Ektike injury looks like a bad one. Hopefully a speedy recovery.

Given that so many top class players are looking extremely poor and have been for most of the season,  I have to conclude that Slot and his coaching staff simply aren’t up to the job. We spent very close to £500m gross in the in 25/26,  Izak €145m, Wirtz €125m and Ekitike €95m. Except for the very occasional flash of brilliance they look more like €20m players. They certainly haven’t replaced the players that we have lost. Whereas Klop improved players that certainly hasn’t been the case with this coaching team. Tactics, injuries and downright bad luck have all played a part but that only goes some way towards explaining just how dire Liverpool as a championship winning team have looked this season. Last nights penalty decision just about summed things up but in reality we simply haven’t been good enough.

I have always maintained that spending huge sums in the transfer market is not necessarily the answer. Manchester United and Chelsea have certainly proved that point over the last 10 years. Many of us have complained  that after winning the Champions League and the previous league title we simply didn’t do enough to strengthen our squad. Long term planning certainly appears to have failed drastically.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 21/22 to 25/26  (10 years
are in brackets 16/17 to 25/26 )
LFC €490m (€650m)
Everton +€15m (€290m)
Arsenal €770m (€1107m)
Spurs €665m (€892m)
Chelsea €740m (€1045m)
Man City €460m (€1095m)
Man United €780m (€1340m)

Kind of went out on a whimper. We've no need to keep Slot now, today is the day to get rid

Slot is entering Brendan Rodgers territory, a feckin' snake oil salesman.  :0

I hope our lads are watching Bayern tonight. Watching how a side plays with hunger and intensity from the off. How fit they are and never give up until the final whistle. I'm not a Bayern fan but you can't fault them for the effort they put in. Fully deserving of the win last week in Madrid and I expect then to do the same tonight at home

That was a proper UCL knockouts tie, cracking match hope Bayern go all the way. Been a while since I've enjoyed a good footy match.

I'd have Lucho back on the left wing in a shot, mate. Olise on the other wing. Musiala in the middle of the park.
Some quality players on that side.
