Have to agree with this, not particularly pleased with the targets we're being linked with for up top. Chelsea seem to have got a nice deal with signing Joao Pedro from Brighton, and even that Delap lad from Ipswich was a good signing for them I thought, decent back-up forward.

The likes of Kerkez and Frimpong looked good today though.

Nunez did look decent today and his finishes where all one touch. Maybe Wirtz can unlock him with his range of passing. He played well today as well.  I think Etitike is a similar signing to Nunez as in the profile of one we go for. No guarantees either that he will make the step up so as ye say maybe it's better the devil you know!!

If we can get what we want for Diaz then keep Nunez.

4-2 to Milan at full time. Diaz and Nunez weren't in the squad for this game, probably they're nearing their exit. My biggest fear is that we might end up replacing decent players for some average players while spending a Sh*t ton of money. Only player that has seemed good so far from the new ones is Frimpong, our cheapest signing. It's very early to pass judgement of course.

I switched off the telly at 3-1 actually chewing my teeth
Seemed like Milan were taking it seriously whilst we were just fking about with players in unaccustomed positions playing five a side footy .
Surely pre season is about more than just team fitness ? how about first 11 cohesion and understanding ?
Would also add those shirts now with the gold lettering are gash, wouldn't fking wear one if they gifted it to me.

I wouldn't get too concerned about this pre-season, the coaches must be focused on formations and strategies, how these new players can be best used. We still have 4 games prior to the first game of the season so no need to b playing flat out now, time to experiment. The 16 year old Rio Ngumoha is interesting, is he the future after Diaz or will he return into the academy setup for another 12 months to learn histrade?

3-1 to us at FT against Yokohama. Decent runout for the boys but still not highly impressed by the new signings tbh (apart from Frimpong). Ngumoha looks like a real talent though.

Yup was going same same the Rio kid looks really good. Only 16, was with Chelsea youth for 8 years and has been with us since 2024.

His quick, pacey doesn't shy away from taking on a player or having a cracking at goal.

That Rio lad has been the highlight of the tour tbh. He's done very well and also worth mentioning Trey. The two of them lads are the real deal.

Yep but they have young legs, we need to introduce them sparingly.

Both Games, we looked superb going forward, but worrying in defence  :( .
Seems like the entire pre-season we've juggled with the back four and it's been a mess. Despite the quality we've shown in attack I've got serious concerns over or defence.Said it before and I'll say it again Virgil and Konate can't play every game, if we lose one or god forbid both of them we'll be in trouble. We need some serious experienced back up for both of them.
Your thoughts Lads ?

I agree and it seems one of those situations we have been in before where something happens mid season and we all say the writing was on the wall. That time VVD got injured and our season went pear shaped I believe was the season after we sold a defender (Lovren) and didn’t replace him. We sacrificed Fabinho out of midfield to play CB. Before that we all said we need to replace Lovren when he was sold and we didn’t. We are world class all across the pitch except in defense, I think there we will be vulnerable and the only reason I can see we may not retain the title.
