Liverpool vs Brighton 14:00 ko 31/03

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Tue Mar 26, 2024 3:33 am

Back to footy..

After the demoralising defeat in the F.A Cup were back and host Brighton. They sit 8th in the table, aiming to crack into a Europe spot.

We win this we go top of the Epl and eagerly watch what happens with City vs Arsenal, hoping for a draw.

Let's see who's healthy after the internationals. Robertson probably out with an ankle injury, the rest that played should be OK. But I really don't understand these international teams. Virgil played 2 full games, both friendlies, Szobozlai, Diaz, Bradley likewise and probably so would have Robbo if he didn't get injured. What the hell is their problem, why risk players like this? I'm not saying not to play them at all but two full 90s for friendly matches in a span of a couple of days is crazy. Even if they don't give a Sh*t about us or the wellbeing of the players, most of them still have Euros to think about in a few months.

Anyway, Brighton has been our bogey team during Klopp's tenure so it will be a tough match. Quite an important game and weekend overall since we play a tough match and Arsenal and City play eachother. This is the team I expect:

Kelleher

Bradley
Konate
Virgil
Gomez

Endo
Szobozlai
MacAllister

Salah
Diaz
Nunez (if fit)

It's a must win. Simple as.
Brighton though, when they're on song, are a pretty impressive side

Key game. I'm still deflated after the United game so hope the lads bounce back and put 3 or 4 past Brighton to get things back on track.

ABSOLUTE MUST WIN!!!

For the simple reason that one or both of our two rivals are going to drop points.

The perfect scenario would be a handsome win (3 or 4 -1 as I think Brighton will score) and a draw at the Etihad.

That would give us daylight of 2 points and 3 points ahead of Arsenal and Abu Dhabi respectively. Then it is completely in our hands.

What an awful start  already 1 down.

We are really starting to miss the composure and quality of Ali and Konate at the back.

Yeah bad start and looking like a few are well off pace at the minute. They need to sharpen up.

Konate is a crock mate. Can't even manage a few games in a row.

Konate is picking up a few injuries. When Matip leaves in the summer, we really need to bring in a proper first team replacement.

He's been picking up nothing but injuries since he came in. He's Matip mach 2.

Back in it now. Bit scrappy but hopefully it spurs us on!!

End-to-end stuff. Is 1-1 but Brighton marching down our right hand side with ease.

I recall some of us calling out the fact that he only played some 20 odd games in his last 2 seasons with Leipzig and that he's likely injury prone but some folks said it was actually one lengthy injury instead of a few injuries but it doesn't seem to be the case. Good player but unreliable, much like Thiago.

As for the game, tough so far but it was expected. We usually do better in the second half so lets hope that is the case this time as well.

Mac is our best player. Mo, Diaz and Nunez have all been poor. Szob had been missing, too.
