Yes I saw that on the inside video, Fred looks like a hobbit compared to Konate.

He had a really good game, maybe could have blocked that shot of Ronaldo's, the one which was disallowed but that's probably nitpicking. Certainly wouldnt bother me if he kept his place in the starting XI. For a big lad he really is a terrific footballer, he could play in midfield.

What a signing this guy has been. He was immense today in the FA Cup final.

Big, intelligent and calm on the ball, he's mirroring VVD and will be another Klopp super signing.

Not just that but he is always smiling and seems to be always the first there to celebrate a goal. He came into a world class team as a young defender and hasn’t looked out of place.

He's had a really good season and certainly doesn't look out of place with us. He's quick, strong and weighed in with a few goals so all in all, it's been a really good debut season for him.

Konate, Van Dijk, Matip and Gomez!. Don't remember us ever having a stronger 4 to pick from before. I know we are struggling up front but we have been solid at the back this year.

It looks like the big man's picked up a hamstring injury and could be out for 2/3 weeks. That's the 17th hamstring injury of the season with players being out injured for a total 79 days between them.

Playing like his head is in the clouds (or Madrid).

If he doesn’t want to stay, get rid. Because he’s causing us all sorts of problems in defence.

Real Madrid have come out and said they're not interested in signing Konate on a free, they must have watched his horrendous form and distanced themselves from him.

Tbh on recent form I wouldn't even offer him a new contract here.

Yeah, read that as well. Who would have thought that not being arsed and playing Sh*t could affect your future move.

Best thing would be to send the lad away for a couple of weeks to clear his head.

He’s not a bad player, but he’s stunk the place out this season.

If he comes back and wants to go, sell in Jan.

Time we all moved on.

The links to Real clearly unsettled him, he's form has been sketchy this season but no one is going to be part of this current back 4 and look good. He had a really good season last year playing the role of a firefighter, whether he was covering for Virgil's lack of pace through the middle or Trent going AWOL out wide he spent the season putting fires out all over our defence. This season i think he's been overwhelmed by the sheer number of fires that have broken out everywhere. All that smiling as he's being dragged off, i think they are ironic smiles myself, inside i think he's livid that Mo and Virgil get to play 90 minutes while he suffers the ignomy of being a subbed off CB.
Stick him in a back 4 where he's surrounded by players like Mark Guehi who can look after themselves and dont need their hands held every 5 minutes i think he'd develop into a top CB, at 27 he's entering that 27-32 period where CB's are in their prime. Let the lad concentrate on his own game, let him take up positions on a pitch where he doesnt have to keep half an eye on his team mates and i think he'll flourish. A Guehi/Konate CB partnership looks good to me, both young, strong and athletic.

You're very generous Yakka: the lad has refused to sign a contract extension for at least 12 months, he's running his contract down and putting himself up for auction. One might say he's pretty mercenary.

To be fair last year he was very good even world class but this year he has been average. I agree with Yakka about it being hard to look good this year as a CD but still he has been especially poor. We really need the best Konate if we are to have any success this year so hopefully the Real Madrid rejection gets his head straight even if just to put himself in the shop window.

He has to go.

Sell to whoever will take him in January. Fed up of his bull$hit on and off the field.
