So many of these going around and I cant really see Nike creating a kit which basically has the Adidas stripes on it.

Kinda bitter/sweet justice that New Balance win the league in their last season, they'll continue to receive massive image publicity for years to come. Lets face it only adidas can compete with Nike.

That Adidas kit was friggin awful and evokes memories of a time when our empire was crumbling around our ears. In my minds eye when I envisage that kit I don’t see Keegan, Dalglish etc I see Mark Walters and Torben Piechnik. It’s an era most of us are trying to forget, we don’t want to be reminded of it every time we run out to play.
What are they going to do for the following year? Design a kit as a tribute to the 53-54 season when we went down?

Yeah that kit was muck and the away one in green was hideous.
Personally I don't think Nike make great jerseys at all so it will be interesting to see what they eventually settle on.

Torbin Picnic   Dark times indeed!!

A heated cushion would be nice  :nod and It would go some way towards replacing the heat loss from wearing the jersey  :D

I’d be surprised if that was the kit, it looks awful and as you said, it reminds us of the spice boys

Liverpool are getting closer and closer to leapfrogging Manchester United in the financial stakes, the ECHO reports.

In the most recent accounts published by the club, Liverpool, who will start their defence of their title against Leeds United on Saturday at Anfield, trailed United by £85million in terms of revenue, with Jurgen Klopp's side having won the Premier League and the Champions League.

Now, the Reds have recruited highly-rated Matt Scammell as the club's new commercial director after leaving his role at Old Trafford, a place where he worked for nine years.

On the impact his arrival at Anfield could have, football finance expert Kieran Maguire said: "Companies want their brand next to the Premier League trophy - there are reputational benefits for all concerned - and people are prepared to pay a price for that.

"Liverpool’s strategy of recruiting Matt Scammell is a logical one because they want to narrow that gap still further - it’s £175 million compared to £275 million so there is still some way to go."

The article is just saying what might be down the line for us so we will have to wait and see whether they will object to those kind of prices or not. I doubt they would myself as they would have given something away to Nike to get the deal they did in the first place.

These articles get thrown out there to test the water imo and in the end Nike will charge the maximum they feel they can get out of you.
