Leicester V Liverpool 26/12/19 KO @20.00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby red till i die!! » Thu Dec 26, 2019 12:54 am

Hopefully we will be still on a high after Saturday and blow this lot clean out of it  :nod 1st game as world champions so its important to get a win.

They are at home and will be looking to cause an upset if they can so we need to be switched on.

I'd go with                                                                                                    Becker.
                                                                                              Trent        Gomez        VVD      Robbo.
                                                                                                                      Henderson
                                                                                                           Keita                  Gini.

                                                                                                  Mo                Bobby            Mane.

2-1 to us  :buttrock

When two counter attacking teams play the first goal is so important and Leicester will be looking to bounce back, on the other hand we could easily be suffering the effects of all the travel. I hope we get the win here as it will be a huge marker set to the many that were hoping and praying we drop points. We are clearly the better team so I hope our quality will come through again.

BRod will realise he's up against a better team and play for the draw, it's more important to stay in touch with City than to go all out for glory.

Being a 4am kick off I won't know the outcome until tomorrow morning!

Like I said last year before the City away game, we just need to not lose. It would be amazing if we won, but we've struggled against Leicester in recent years, even when they were midtable so a draw wouldn't be a bad result here either to be honest.

Confirmed lineup

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi, Jones, Williams.

Strongest possible 11 I think with the injuries we have.

Given the potentially fatal blow to our challengers that a win would bring I don't think that a draw is a good result. At best it would be borderline acceptable given our exertions/ travel in the WCC.

Winning means we will be 13 and 14 points clear of Leicester and City at about about the half way stage of the season.

Can you see us losing 5 games and either of those two being perfect from here on in?

It's always best to be cautious in our expectations but this could be the title decider right here.

Playing against a tight arse defence we can ill afford to miss clear cut chances like what Mane and Salah have missed already

Salah is a great asset but he is turning into a more and more selfish wa--er with each passing game- needs to sort himself out.
Klopp should dry h--p him at half time. This is a VITAL game to win.
