Super Cup - Liverpool vs Chelsea 14 Aug 8pm KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby 7_Kewell » Sun Aug 11, 2019 8:01 pm

Time to notch up our first silverware of the 2019/20 season by bashing Fat Fwaks Chavs  :buttrock

Chelsea are a mess, but they'll be up for this one. I'd shuffle the pack and give Matip and Keita the nod over Gomez and Gini.  Not sure I'd rush Mane back, just yet.

Something like this:

                     Adrián
Robertson  Matip  VVD  Alexander-Arnold
Henderson   Fabinho   Keita
   Salah      Firmino         Origi

Hopefully Liverpool have learnt the danger of silly injuries in Mickey Mouse cups.

Ill be surprised of Chelsea will come full power..They cant afford to drop points in there next game and we have 2 days of rest on them..If we entertain a decent lineup we will win comfortably

I don't want us to just win this thing, I want a through demolition of the Chavs by 6 or 7 goals.

And a nice close up of Fat Fwank face as Salah completes his hat trick  :D

This is a decent trophy to win so i hope we go all guns blazing and bring it home.
That would mean starting Mane.

This is worth fielding a top side to get the job done and we can't be afraid to field our top players for fear of injury. A saturday afternoon against one of the lower sides is the time for that but not now when there is a trophy at stake.

LFC European Super Cup Champions 2019 has a nice ring to it :nod

It’s always nice to win a match and lift some silverware over your head but this is the European version of the Community Shield and a bit of a pointless match. Why would the Champions League winners play the winners of the Europa League? I actually think the Club World Cup is prestigious and something worth going all out to win as you’re up against the Champions of other continents. But I’d rotate for the Super Cup. The Southampton game on Saturday is more important and I’m not convinced our players are fit enough yet to play 2 games at a high level within 72 hours. I’d go with something like this.

                            Adrian

Gomez          Matip          van Dijk          Robbo

                            Fabinho
                 Milner              Keita

      Shaqiri                                 Ox
                              Origi

Subs: Firmino, Brewster, Salah, Mane, Lallana, Jones, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Trent, Lovren, van den Berg, Lonergan

I think we go with the best team for this one. It is one match and you win it and add a trophy so you have to win it. Mane should play in this one. I am sure that Chelsea will be at full strength.

Pretty weird line-up if you ask me. Chamberlain up top? Or is it a diamond formation with Salah and Mane as forwards with the Ox behind them? Not liking the fact that Origi is on the bench either, he's been in good form and benching him doesn't send a good message to the rest of the team.

I would give Brewster and Elliott some minutes to give them a taste of the big time, and whet their appetite

We've been garbage, so far.  Look off the pace all over the field.
