Nike Sponsorship

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It looks like Adidas are not going to match Nikes £60m offer..so Nike are looking favourites to sponsor us for the first time in our history.

I've liked the NB homeshirts the last couple of years but this will be a huge deal for us.

The deal with NB runs out at the end of the season and Nike and Adidas were looking to jump in with big bids

Back in talks with Nike in a deal worth £750m which would be the biggest kit deal in England.. Even bigger than Uniteds deal with Adidas.

Isn't 750mil over 10 years what Man Utd got from Adidas?

I wonder if we are able to get a similarly large deal the club will use a large chunk of the money to expand the stadium rather than put towards players fees and wages.

You are right I did read it wrong. It will eclipse the 750m deal United have with Adidas.

Not really worth it. You don't get the same sort money for a stadium that has already had a name for 100+ years.

If we had built a new stadium I'm sure we would have looked to roll naming rights in with a shirt sponsor.

Anfield is the soul of the club and the name should never be changed.  :no The Nike Stadium  :( .

As a kit sponsor then why not. We pretty much used every other Major brand at this stage.

So it looks like the Nike deal is £30m a year which is £15m a year less than our current deal with NB.

Not exactly the record breaking deal we were expecting.

I thought it was 75 per year and NB was taking us to court as there was “a right to match any a bid” in their contract with us and we want Nike. We are European Champions so how could it be less?

How can the new deal be so poor?
PSG who hasn't ever been close to a CL final gets 70 million/year

Because there will also be 20% of global royalties which will dwarf what PSG get

Ah, just hope there is nothing to NB's claim.
