Kewell, pongolle or mellor - Who would you rather

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Mellor, Pongolle, Kewell and Baros. With all due repsect none of them are the real answer for various reasons. All of them, support players at best !!
Two real top class strikers required ASAP. As to who plays between now and the arrival of the 'main men' is somewhat of a meaningless debate, its a bit like debating whch type of plane has the best chance of developing a 'moon landing capability' :D

Sorry Santa, I dont want to sound too harsh, but Baros good as he is, can not be classed with Shearer, Henry etc. That's the class of player we need to lead the line.

One, would be a good start.
It's a pity we mis-managed the sale of one we had in September.

maybe we could get them on by one get one free. The owen debarcle was down to one man only and that was owen himself. He wasn't interested in LFC for at least a season. He shuold have come clean then and we would have got a much better price for him.

I would leave Kewell out of the team right now, because there are players who are doing a better job than him.

Pongolle and Mellor are both pushing, but with Mellor scoring 2 yesterday, It is hard to call who is ahead, but don't think either will start against Palace, it will be Garcia and Baros.

The more I think about it, the more I reckon that POngolle needs to be pushed.

He had a fantastic pedigree at underage level and showed some small signs last year that he could do serious damage if he developed.

He needs to show a bit more when he plays, his first touch is often sloopy, and his finishing leaves a lot to be desired.

What he really needed was a loan deal to a Premership club where he could play first team.

can we afford to give him plenty of games while he's not performing though? there is of course the risk that he wont come good.  should we persist with Diao also?

sorry JBG seem to have it in for you in the last 5 mins!!!
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

mellor did good ok but it was only boro who had quite a few big stars out give no harm in having him as a sub to give last 10/20 miutes to see what he can do buts thats it and rafa dnt see him as a starter yet.

I think pongolle with his pace and all would do better as a sub in the last 10 to 15 mins than mellor. I get the feeling the pongolle does not know how to pace himself, and eventually will run himself out before the 1st half ends.....
