Klopp saying knee still swollen and difficult to fully assess yet. Did say that Mane being out for the rest of the season could still be a possibility but they will have a better idea once the swelling goes. Hopefully won't be too long
Just when you think we're finally in a good position to get 4th, this happens. He has comfortably been our best player this season, we struggled massively in his absence (african cup) and I really hope we're better prepared this time around. Lallana has been our 2nd best player this season for me and him also missing the next 3 or 4 games will affect us. Klopp already said we dont have a replacement for Mane and he's right. I'd have Sturridge in the starting lineup as soon as he's fit enough to start to try to compensate Mane's goal threat and direct approach. Something like this:
With no Lallana and Mane we will find it difficult. I agree with above line up thats the best we can conjure. If there was a time we needed a fit studge its now.
I'd love it if Danny came back tomorrow, knocked in 2 and played as if his future depended on it. But I just can't see it happening, sadly. He's lost a yard and doesn't seem willing or able to adapt his game.
“You cannot transfer the heart and soul of Liverpool Football Club, although I am sure there are many clubs who would like to buy it.”
Well no Mane no most likely for rest of the season. We are in a tought situation with Lallana and Hendo out aswel. Time for Origi to step up and if miracles are possible Studge to stay healthy. We should still be able to get positive results for rest of the season.
Sadio is kicking into another gear at this season. Even after his impressive displays last season, I seriously did not expect him to become the world class player that I'm sure he's headed to become by the end of this season.
Let's see what Klopp can do with Salah (who I believe is at a lower level than Mane of last year at the moment).
