the mirror is claiming we are in talks with eto during our "search" for a striker    if this is what our search has come up with then they shouldnt have bothered.
with over 2 weeks to go this is nothing but desperation on our part.

If that's true and we have the money to spend but can't find someone to sign i really don't know why we are paying Ayre and his team of scouts....

I've read a few tweets from people that are claiming we want Bony but his wage demands are too high.
The Eto link may be a way of him reducing them knowing we have our eye on someone else.

Liverpool have been told to pay at least £24m for Lazio starlet Keita Balde Diao.

According to reports in Italy, the Anfield club are preparing a bid for the hot-shot but the Serie A club do not intend to sell.

Further reports suggest that Lazio owner and president Claudio Lotito would only consider bids north of £24m for Diao.

The 19-year-old striker joined the Serie A outfit in 2011 for a fee of £300,000, and scored five times in 23 senior appearances last season.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already secured the services of Belgian youngster Divock Origi from Lille, but he is keen to snap up Diao.

It is thought the Anfield club have already had a bid rejected for the player who struck an incredible 47 goals in a single season during a loan spell at Spanish side UE Cornella, the same team which Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba was sent to, in the 2010-11 season.

Diao, who was born in Spain to Senegalese parents, spent seven years at Barcelona's famed academy before his temporary spell at Cornella.

He rejected the chance to return to the Nou Camp and instead opted to join Lazio, despite interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Diao is highly rated by Lazio who see him as Miroslav Klose's successor.

Liverpool defender Martin Kelly to complete £1.5million move to Crystal Palace this week

Liverpool defender Martin Kelly will complete a surprise £1.5m switch to Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old and his representatives held talks with Palace officials on Monday and wrapped up the deal Tuesday morning.

The Whiston-born full-back has made more than 30 senior appearances for the Reds since breaking into the first-team squad in 2007.

But he has struggled with injury and spent a year on the sidelines after damaging his knee in a Premier League clash against Manchester United at the start of the 2012 season.

Kelly did not start a single game as Brendan Rodgers’ side fought for the title last season.

But he recently spoke of his desire to prove his long-term fitness this season and said: 'I think in terms of confidence and feeling strong I’m definitely 100 per cent, but in longer terms that takes games.

'I've been fit for a season now but I haven't had the games, so the run of games is vital for me this season.'

Eto'o? I'm begginning to wonder if Rodgers is more concerned with numbers than he is quality. We need to sign a player ready made to walk in that first team to create and score goals
