I hope we get this Moreno deal wrapped up as soon as possible, then we can focus on getting a striker in without distraction. Other than that I'm pretty happy with how the squad looks, Reus would be a bonus but I'm more concerned with putting the chances away and Sturridge on his own is not enough playing on 4 fronts. If we were/are interested in Reus we at least gave a good showing of ourselves when we played them
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Liverpool have yet to meet Sevilla's valuation for defender Alberto Moreno according to their club president.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been chasing the highly-rated Spanish international for most of the summer and he is expected to land the 22-year-old before the window shuts at the end of the month.

Sevilla president Jose Castro is holding out for £16m for the full-back and claims that he will not be sold unless their valuation is met.

"There have been negotiations [for Moreno], eight or 10 days ago, but there has been no agreement and nor is there today," Castro told the club's official website on Monday.

"If Liverpool's offer is suitable he will leave. If not, he'll stay and nothing will happen, absolutely nothing. We'll be at ease."

Sevilla have denied reports they have reached an agreement with Liverpool for Alberto Moreno, but admit they are willing to sell for the right price.

Brendan Rodgers' side have been on the hunt for a left-back all summer, narrowly missing out on Swansea's Ben Davies, who joined Tottenham.

Liverpool have now identified the highly-rated Moreno as their main target and there have been widespread reports that they have all but completed a deal for the 22-year-old.

Sevilla chairman Jose Castro, however, has denied that is the case, although he says a deal is possible IF the Reds are willing meet their demands.

"If Liverpool decide to pay the price we want then Alberto Moreno will go, otherwise he will remain with us," said Castro.

"We made a deal 8-10 days ago, but nowadays we do not have an agreement."

Sevilla are believed to want around £16million for Moreno, who made 43 appearances in all competitions last season.

16 million for Moreno seems like a fair price. I thought the were asking for 20? Papers now say that we've actually only offered 14 while they will settle for 16. We'd be very stupid if we don't accept that.

The Cavani rumor's are flying around social media again, a lot of people saying that we will hold talks with his club on friday

I know he comes with a big reputation and fee, but from what i have seen of him in the world cup he was average at best

Anyone have any thoughts on Cavani and if he would fit into our system ?

Cavani isn't quick enough for our counter attacking style..plus if he signs for a hefty fee he will most likely be a guaranteed starter, that will mean Sturridge will play behind the striker in the triangle formation and players like Coutiniho and Lallana will not get as much game time. Cavani is not the answer.

Really think we need to go big before the window shuts. Cavani would do well, off form lately but is a beast of a player.

Would like to see Cavani here although will cost big money .  Strong , tricky and can score goals , was overshadowed by suarez at the worldcup .
The question is , will he ever opt for us and as things likely to go i dont think any big name signing will be done .
I expect a lesser known player to be signed *Bony . Would gladly be proven otherwise .

Cavani is highly unlikely but a fantastic player and would become a fan favorite in weeks given his work rate. I cant see PSG selling him though and if they did, he's likely to end up at a City, Utd or Bayern.

I'm dissapointed the deal for Remy didnt go through. I think hes very underrated and a chance at a top club where he isnt the main guy would have been a brilliant platform for him.

Cavani would be a brilliant signing for us. His work rate is phenomenal, and he was playing out of position both at PSG and the WC.

He played wide right, as Zlatan played central and still managed a goal every 2 games.

I would also be stoked if we could nab Lavezzi as well, the guy can create, score and he trackes back well on defence.

Adding those 2 (although we would probably only be able to get 1) would give us a fantastic squad capable of playing numerous formations, and would give us a bit of champions league experience so we could ease players like Sterling into the action.

Getting them plus Moreno would signal great intentions by FSG and would also propel us right back into title contention.
