The 24-year-old, who won the Best Player in Ligue 2 award last season, is under contract with Metz until the summer of 2015.

West Ham have made a 12 million bid for Konoplyanka

Brendan Rodgers is being linked with a move for Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow but faces a big battle to land him.

North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen to sign the 23-year-old but new Forest boss Stuart Pearce does not want to let him go.

However, Forest, who are looking to make a return to the Premier League this coming season, will have a job on their hands to keep hold of the player.

Fiorentina have warned suitors of Juan Cuadrado that they intend to keep him through the summer transfer window.

Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Cuadrado after a fine World Cup campaign with Colombia.

The winger scored once and set up four goals as the South Americans reached the quarter finals, only to be knocked out by hosts Brazil.

The Serie A outfit bought Cuadrado's full sporting rights last month for around £11m, having previously co-owned his services with Udinese.

And Firorentina sporting director Daniele Prade insists that the club will do everything to keep the 26-year-old at the Stadio Artemio Franchi."

Cuadrado is a very strong player," Prade said. "The Della Valle family (Fiorentina owners) has done an enormous effort to buy the full sporting rights of the player.

"Now we will have to wait for him to return before we know where his future will be."We will do all that we can to convince him to remain but all will be decided when he returns (from holiday).

"For the time being we have not received any official offers for him."

whats the story with konoplyanka ? after all the noise about him in january id have thought we would have returned for him again. we seemed to waste much of the last window chasing him and now nothing 
apparently fat sam is now interested in a £12 mil deal

if this lad was scouted and rodgers felt he was going to improve the team then i dont understand why there is no interest now in him. i have said it before that its not about who we want but who the manager wants and if he felt this lad was worth buying then why not now.

maybe because in January Brendan didn't have an extra £70m hanging out of his ar$e pocket

Personally think he is over rated. Watched him after we tried to get him and although he is very quick and has the ability to pull something out the bag, more often than not there's no real end product

The headlines on Sky sports news are that Arsenal are very confident of signing Alexi Sanchez for £30m. Alan Smith is on saying he's going to be a fantastic signing.

Liverpool look set to sign Dejan Lovren as Southampton line up a bid for Everton target Bruno Ecuele Manga.

Liverpool have already had a £20m bid for the centre-back rejected by the Saints, who are reportedly holding out for £25m.

The St Mary's club have now targeted Manga as a contingency plan as Lovren continues to push for a move to Anfield.

The FC Lorient defender was a mainstay in the club's back four last season, helping them to eighth in Ligue 1 and also attracting interest from Everton.

But Southampton are to step up their interest in the 25-year-old after Lovren claims his head is already at Liverpool.

"Liverpool sent a £20m offer and they [Southampton] paid £9m for me, so they would've earned twice the amount," Lovren said.

"It was in the morning and by the afternoon the club had said I was not for sale.

"Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool."

The Reds have already signed Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert from Southampton this summer.

If we are missing out on Sanchez, then this is the sort of player we should be going for. I was disappointed with Lallana signing for the 25mill fee, was disappointed with Markovic signing for the 25 mill fee, and I cant believe we spent 10mill on a player who will spend next season out on loan. Cuadrado is better than anything we've got down the flanks and he'd command a starting spot unlike Markovic and Lallana. If we have any chance of getting him then we should act quickly.

Sorry that the club fills your life with so much disappointment, I feel for ya

Markovic will be a great signing IMO and I'm not convinced that we need another wide forward, Sterling, Markovic and Lallana (not to mention Ibe who looks more and more impressive every time he takes to the field) is as good as anything in the prem in that area IMO.

Liverpool's Lucas set to depart with Inter Milan and Napoli chasing his signature

The Brazilian suffered injury problems last term and found his way into the team blocked by the deep-lying Steven Gerrard and resurgent Jordan Henderson

Lucas is set to leave Liverpool with Inter Milan and Napoli vying for his signature.

Lucas has been forced further down the midfield pecking order at Anfield by Emre Can's £9.8million arrival last week and his first-team prospects for next season look bleak.

The Brazilian was unable to hold down a regular starting place last season and was gutted to miss out on a place in Luiz Felipe Scolari's World Cup squad.

Lucas, 27, does not want to spend next season as a squad player at Anfield and has fuelled exit talk by removing mention of Liverpool from his twitter biography.

Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is a long-term admirer of Lucas, having signed him for the Reds from Gremio in 2007 and would like to work with him again.

Benitez is understood to be monitoring Lucas' situation and would be interested in taking him on loan next season with a view to a permanent deal.

Inter are also keen on Lucas, who had blossomed into one of the Premier League's top holding midfielders before a serious knee ligaments injury at the end of 2011 derailed his career.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants a big squad next season because of Liverpool's return to the Champions League, but may be persuaded to listen to offers for Lucas.
