Liverpool still very keen to sign Chile and Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez. Other clubs interested too

would much rather this deal was done before lallana  :nod

Can't understand how we're not trying to get this deal wrapped up asap. I think he'll end up at City or Chelsea which is a real shame. Cant see us spending 60 mill improving our forward line (27 mill Lallana, 27mill?  Sanchez, 5mill Lambert) and still having any sort of money to spend improving our backline and midfield (keeping in mind we already spent 10mill bringing in Emre Can).

He's twice the player Lallana is imo.

Sevilla are interested in Iago Aspas as a replacement for Carlos Bacca, any deal would have nothing to do with Alberto Moreno. (Marca)

With all this money discussed for players you've got to expect suarez to be off. Either that or the owners are putting in the cash to make us a side not to be messed with

Really like Lallana as a player and was really hoping that we can get him at the start of this transfer window, but now I'm not so sure. 25 million for him is a lot. We could get Sanchez for that, who is younger and better.

This rumor from The Mail should make ycsatbjywtbiastkamb happy  :grinning:

Liverpool WILL sell Luis Suarez if they get £80m bid... Brendan Rodgers will use cash to sign Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic

Reds ready to let star man go after four-month FIFA ban
Brendan Rodgers wants around £80m for Suarez to rebuild squad
Adam Lallana set to join Liverpool from Southampton in next 48 hours
Benfica winger Lazar Markovic also a target

Liverpool are ready to sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona for £80million as they began ambitious moves to revamp their attack.

With Barcelona having made clear that Suarez's four month worldwide ban from football does not impact on their intentions to sign him, Liverpool have wasted no time in moving to find the right replacements.

Adam Lallana will become a Liverpool player at some point in the next 48 hours after Southampton finally relented and accepted a £25million offer for the England international, four weeks after receiving it from Anfield officials.

Liverpool have also launched a bid to sign Lazar Markovic from Benfica. The Serbia international is one of the hottest young properties in European football and has a £20million release clause in his contract.

Though Liverpool are stunned by the length of the ban Suarez received from FIFA on Thursday for biting Giorgio Chiellini, there is an acceptance now is the right time to let the Uruguay striker leave after he embroiled them in controversy once again, although it is not known how much Barca would be prepared to pay.

Suarez's lawyer Alejandro Balbi was in Barcelona on Friday to discuss his client's future when new Barca head coach Luis Enrique maintained there would be no issue about going for the 27-year-old.

He compared Suarez to the legendary former Barca and Bulgaria forward Hristo Stoichkov and said: 'Stoichkov deliberately trod on a referee but he was still considered a great player.'

For Liverpool to get £80million for Suarez was represent excellent business and Brendan Rodgers would clearly be given the funds to reinvest in a squad that came within two points of winning the Barclays Premier League last season.

Completing a deal for Lallana is now a formality after the England international arrived on Merseyside to complete a two-part medical at the club's Melwood training ground and Spire Liverpool hospital.

Lallana has had his heart set on a move to Merseyside since the end of last season and his wish looks set to come true now, with personal terms agreed on a long-term deal.

Liverpool's opening offer of £20million was rejected last month and they subsequently returned with an improved bid of £25million but were left wondering whether Southampton - who are due to give Bournemouth 25 per cent of any fee they will receive - would accept what a valuation they had no intention of raising.

Talk of Lallana's future was put on hold while England's World Cup campaign was ongoing but the situation has accelerated since England's squad returned from Brazil and he will join his former Saints team-mate Rickie Lambert at Anfield.

Liverpool's aim is to get their transfer business concluded swiftly and aside from Lambert and Lallana, they have added Germany Under-21 international Emre Can to their ranks.

Markovic, a 22-year-old who was a huge influence on Benfica winning the Portugese title, is almost certain to be the next arrival. Liverpool have been tracking him for some time, as had Chelsea, but they are ready to meet his release clause.

But they are unlikely to finish there. Liverpool also want a left-back, with Sevilla's Alberto Moreno a target but negotiations have gone quiet for him.

Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri is also on Liverpool's wanted list while the club are hopeful of beating Tottenham to and adding Belgium international Divock Orgigi, too.

If they can conclude a deal for the Lille forward, they would loan him back to the French club next season

Tony Barrett (The Times)

Liverpool moving rapidly in the transfer market. Deals for Origi & Lallana almost done and now a move for Benfica's Lazar Markovic too.

I dont think Shaqiri Lallana or Sanchez would be as Prolific as Suarez. Would mean that we would require more from our midfielders and alot more pressure of Sturridge.

Saying that if we can get Sanchez, Shaqiri and lallana in for the same price we sell Suarez wouldnt be such a bad deal

Sanchez won't come here, good to see us being linked with Markovic though who is an exciting young player (thanks for the heads up Cardiff Red, you've been a Trojan this transfer window  :bowdown )
Origi is going straight back out on loan so he's another one of those Ilorri/Alberto type signings, we shouldn't be expecting too much of him.
All this activity in terms of bringing forwards and attacking midfielders in does seem to indicate that Luis could be off.

Hope we stick to our guns and don't lower our sights, Barcelona will no doubt try to palm us off with all their deadwood but Sanchez should be the only player we'd accept in part ex.

if suarez leaves then we have got to land a marquee replacement or we are up against it before a ball is kicked. all well and good signing young lads for the future but we need to improve the team now if we want to go one better.
i find it a bit strange that we would be willing to part with luis because of his issues when it doesnt seem to bother barca, ban or not. they are an even bigger club than us and dont seem bothered how his signing affects their image, brand or sponsorship deals. i dont see why we are bothering unless we need the money or he truly wants out. could it be that we agreed to let him go this year regardless of what happened ?.
anyway if he is on the way out it should only be on the condition that sanchez moves our way or no deal because they will be getting a top top player who will improve their team so we need to make sure we get similar.

Origi is much further in development than Ilori or Alberto. The fact he is in Belgium's WC squad is a testament to that.

25m for Lallana. They must be laughing their holes off at us. What a waste of money. Totally overrated.
