Liverpool are set to up their offer for Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno to £20million in a bid to finally wrap up his signature.

The Reds have been given permission to talk to the Spain international after making a £17million bid a fortnight ago, but Sevilla have now rejected that offer and want more cash.

Brendan Rodgers is desperate to get Moreno on board as quickly as possible, and despite previously holding firm on his valuation, Marca now says he will up it.

Sevilla confirmed on Thursday they are still in regular contact with Liverpool, but would not let him leave until a 'fair fee' could be agreed.

Liverpool hope that adding £3million to their original offer will now be enough, with the £20million set to be paid mostly up front.

Moreno has told his friends and family he will be moving to Merseyside and Liverpool feel they have invested too much time in the deal for it now not to happen.

Newly-Queens Park Rangers have joined Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Southampton in the chase for Cardiff star and former Tottenham man Steven Caulker.

The 22-year-old is set to leave the Welsh outfit this summer after their relegation from the Premier League, with Everton understood to be his preferred destination thanks to their offer of first-team football and the opportunity to work under Roberto Martinez.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen as they look to add some English talent to their squads, whilst Southampton could launch a bid should they lose unsettled centre-back Dejan Lovren.

Manchester United and Liverpool will compete for Andre Ayew after the Ghanaian star produced a string of solid displays at the World Cup, Express reports.

The Marseille attacker only has a year left on his current deal as the French club look to make a profit from his sale before being force to part ways with the player for free.

However, he has not hinted at any possible preference when it comes to the two teams, but has already admitted his desire to play in the English league. He said: "It's a league every player dreams about.

"The English league is the one most followed in Ghana. It's true that I have a real preference for England."

Ayew, who was named African Football of the Year back in 2011, recently play down talks about his desired destination but since Ghana's World Cup exit, a decision could soon be made.

Before the match against Portugal, he previously said: "I talked about it with my agent and he confirmed it. I haven't decided what to do yet.

"I have one year left on my contract with Olympique and we haven't discussed the future. It will all happen after the World Cup."

French winger Mathieu Valbuena is considering a move away from Marseille, alerting Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool, Daily Mail reports.

Valbuena has been instrumental to France's impressive World Cup performance thus far, and according to his agent, is being lined up by Europe's top sides.

The 29-year-old has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, Valencia, and Italian sides Fiorentina and Napoli.

Jean-Pierre Bernes, his agent, claimed: "He has a contract with Marseille and they are not a small club, they are a big club in France.

"But it is true that given his performances, and if there is the opportunity with a club, it is something we will examine and Marseille as well.

"Nothing is set, there is no destination fixed, there are contact with certain clubs in different European leagues."

Only on Wednesday, Marseille completed the move for Rennes attacking midfielder Romain Alessandrini, which could allow for the sale of Valbuena.

The Frenchman was rested for his country's game against Ecuador two nights ago, with Les Blues already through to the knock-out stages.

Negotiations over Karim Benzema's proposed contract extension with Real Madrid have hit a stumbling block, giving Liverpool; Arsenal and Manchester United new hope of signing the striker.

Spanish sources claim that Benzema has rebuffed a £5.5million per-year offer, and will instead hold-out for a colossal£7m deal.

It is thought the Frenchman is exploiting his highly coveted status to negotiate an improved contract with the reigning Champions League holders.

Benzema clearly has no problems with displaying his ability on the world stage - three goals in as many games for Didier Deschamps's France has added to his already considerable £40m price-tag.

Madrid chiefs failure to tie Benzema to a contract extension has left them vulnerable to his ultimatum.

And with the financial might of PSG, Manchester United and Arsenal monitoring the situation, Real may have no choice but to submit to the 26-year-old's demands. The forward has enjoyed a productive season with the Madrid club, helping them to claim a first Champions League trophy since the triumph of 2002.

But despite netting 17 league goals, with a further nine assists to boot, manager Carlo Ancelotti may decide that cashing in on the French international would constitute better business.

Liverpool have been installed as favourites ahead of Manchester United to clinch Yevhen Konoplyanka's signature this summer.

The Reds came close to signing the Ukrainian winger in January, but a deal for him collapsed on deadline day.

Brendan Rodgers has already brought in Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, and he appears close to signing Belgian striker Divock Origi too.

And now it seems Konoplyanka could be Anfield bound, at least according to the bookies.SkyBet has Liverpool as 9/4 favourites to clinch a deal for Konoplyanka this summer.

Manchester United, who are looking to be busy in Louis Van Gaal's first transfer window, are priced at 5/2.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are 2/5 clear favourites to sign Alexis Sanchez.

Liverpool have won the race to sign Lille striker Divock Origi, talkSPORT understands.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has pulled off a coup by landing the sought after Belgian teenager for just £6million, from right under the noses of Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 19-year-old has earned rave reviews at the World Cup and scored five goals in 30 Ligue 1 games last season.

Rodgers has earmarked the forward as back-up to main strikers Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez and new signing Rickie Lambert, and Origi could return to Lille on loan next season.

The striker will become Brendan Rodgers' third capture this summer, following the arrival of Lambert from Southampton and Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool are on the brink of completing the signing of Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

The ECHO understands the England international is currently on his way to Melwood to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £25million.

It's a case of third time lucky for the Reds who failed with two previous bids for Lallana prior to England's unsuccessful World Cup campaign.

He would become Liverpool's third summer signing - joining Saints clubmate Rickie Lambert at Anfield along with Bayer Leverkusen's Emre Can.
