It'll be interesting to see how much the compensation is for THE CHOSEN ONE when it is finally published in the accounts. My guess is a minimum of £25m. Could only happen in football. I don't get much right but I certainly got it right about the extremely overrated Mr Moyes. One very lucky man IMHO.

This is a very sad day except for Manchester United. The good news is that it isn't going to take five minutes to sort out the mess.

Don't know. My guess is that he's been sacked after it being mathematically impossible to reach the CL. Maybe there is/was clause in his contract; if he didn't reach the CL, he could be booted with not much compo.

I wouldnt be surprised if no clause existed, I reckon the idea of not being in the top 4 never entered the minds of the powers that be at utd

I hated the guy as a player, but as a pundit I have to admit he knows his onions.

Sad day tho, I wanted Davy Moyes to get another year at the very least  :(

Sounds like the compensation has been limited to one years salary as there was a clause in respect of failing to get into the CL. The suggestion is he will get approx £5m - what a lucky fkr !!

Neville's a superb pundit. Bit of a kn*b, but knows the game inside out.

Moyes leaving is bad news, I was hoping he'd get to waste another £50,000,000 next season too :(

Bit of a knob ? Now you're trying to perfect the art of understatement

Not sure about Moyes. Always thought he was massively out of his depth but would he have grown into the job given time. Man United could be entering a merry go round of managers. Van Gaal doesn't stay anywhere for very long and he is close to drawing his OAP. Just who is there that actually wants the job that can successfully turn things around quickly? I'm also convinced that they won't spend anything like £200m in the summer unless they sell a lot of players.

I hope they do go for Van Gaal, what's he done of note in the last 10 years, most of his experience with the big sides like barca and Bayern was in the 90's
