It's like me going to the shop to buy my favourite band's new album, but as it's £15 I buy three albums I'm never going to listen to for £20 instead.

:D

Its a strange window alright.  The strangest part of it is being linked to Salah and Ince.  We have Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho, Sterling, Moses, Ibe, Alberto, Aspas and even Henderson that can play in attacking positions.

We have 2 fit CM's and we don't seem to linked with anyone in that position.  Strange considering our manager favours a 3 man midfield.
Maybe he is convinced that Allen will be back soon and we can get by until Lucas returns.

Or maybe no one is looking to get rid of a good CM in Jan for a reasonable price?

If we fail signing a defensive CM it would be criminal equivalent to signing an injured Aquilani as our main Midfielder.

Newspapers are just making things up now. Let's just face it, we're not signing anyone in this window. Maybe another Alberto but we won't sign anything serious.

Apart from doughnuts and dodgy airlines ;-)

And from the daily star, BR says....the last 3 paragraphs are really goulling to the fans

The Reds are missing defenders Daniel Agger, Mamadou Sakho, Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique and midfielder Lucas Leiva heading into their derby clash with Everton, who could have up to nine players missing at Anfield on Tuesday.

And Rodgers, who last week had only 15 players fit for training, has been trying to fill out his squad and while he has been looking at loan deals he insists he will not 'stockpile' players who are not going to improve his first team.

"We have to wait and see, there is certainly nothing imminent. If we could do that it is something we would want to do," he added.

"I said all along this was a group we needed a bit of luck with injury and unfortunately we have been hit with a bad run of injuries.

"I am reluctant to bring in anyone which just stockpiles players, I want to bring in players who can impact our starting XI and if I can't do that I won't do anything.

"I wouldn't bring in a player here in January unless he was a really outstanding player who we could get on a loan that is going to really help.

"We have enough of that type, support players, around the team and if I wanted to do that I'd rather give a young player an opportunity.

Taking time off from promoting his flagging second hand car dealership, Brendan says

"I want to bring in players who can impact our starting XI and if I can't do that I won't do anything."

If only he'd thought of that in the last window, he might now have had some money left to back up the idea.   :veryangry

So we're just after loans then?

If that's true and not just a splash of hot air i would consider this a very negative and serious blemish over BR as a future LFC manager. If that is true then BR admits we aren't contending for a CL seat and he has been playing us all along. Just a few month ago he splashed money over Sakho and Ilori when he thought our CB position was deplated and now when we have HUGE hole in the middle he still wastes time over god know what...I don't know i really hope it's just words because to be a successful manager in the PL isn't just about tactics ,We had this with Rafa ,it's about building/buying/adjusting when it matters.

Really upsetting comment.

I agree 100% with what Brendan is saying. he is spot on, we have more than enough squad fillers and the only players we should be bringing in are ones that have the potential to nail down a place in the starting XI.
So why haven't we done that?
All these experts that sit on our transfer committee have had from September to Christmas to find a player that would strengthen us but January arrives and nothing happens.
I mean how hard is it to sign a player? United managed to buy a top class player from probably their biggest rivals over the last decade and Chelsea completed a deal in two days that we couldn't wrap up in almost two months.

You are 100% correct. This "Committee" should always have multiple options in each position for the manager to consider. I have no idea who those guys are but they are having a good laugh over being paid to do nothing!

It's simple. We just don't have a solid financial backing. Seriously, what do you guys think? That we have the money but the people in charge to spend them are too stupid to do so? It's obvious that it has been agreed that there will be no money to spend in this transfer window and that's that.

Even Swansea are doing better than us. They've signed some French prodigy kid from Bolton, David N'Gog.

How is any of this Rodgers' fault?
