Andre Gomes anyone....

The news going round is that Benfica have stated that they've sold the player for €15m (Euros). I just wonder.........

Sounds like another Alberto to me, one for the future.
I'd be amazed if he came here and made himself a regular in the starting XI straight away.
Seems like we are sticking to this money ball philosophy even though 4th is within our grasp for the first time in 5 or 6 years.
If this is the height of our ambition in the transfer market then I think we'd all better enjoy watching Luis while we can.

I thought Money ball (if i got the movie right) is bringing players which their Stats lead you to decide they can contribute to the overall team performance...This looks more like roulette or trying to win the lottery.

It's all so frustrating, if we are going for Shaqiri, then it needs to be sorted today, not tomorrow, as will will allow other teams to hijack.......could we put in an offer for Draxler and see what happens. Also, which player can replace Gerrard as the midfield general? Btw, I notice that we seem to play better when Gerrard is not in the side now (maybe he can help with coaching)

This is the first time in years that we are in a position to be in the top 4, our best chance, and as a result, everything, everything must be done so this chance doesn't slip away.  Come BR, the board, negotiating team, sort it, now.

There is talk that Agger could be in in a swap deal with Napoli's Gorkan Inler.  I know Agger has had several injuries in recent times, so, potentially, this could suit us!

Gökhan Inler is 29 though, would fsg buy someone of that age?

Not sure, but at this stage, we need quality experienced professionals in defence.

Rodgers said in his pre Bournemouth press conference that we won't be signing any defenders this month.

being top of the pile on christmas day was our biggest selling point to players and yet brendan is still building for the future. he will always be building and rebuilding signing players like this.
that lad niguez is valued at 20 by athletico and we are rumoured to be willing to offer 12  :eyebrow it has all the hallmarks of a panic buy imo and as you say id be surprised if he came in and made a position his own.
if rodgers was still at swansea then id believe he'd still have bought the same players he's signing for us

A bit of a heads up, that Saul is currently playing for vallacano against atletico on sky sports 1.
He's number 22 I think

Yeah, watching the game myself. Is he playing CB? I thought the kid was a midfielder?

Apparently, Rodgers is supposed to be at this one so let's keep an eye out for him.

Anyway, I really hope this kid won't be our main transfer target in this window. Honestly I'd rather we keep our money than play russian roulette. We already have enough Alberto's and Aspas' and Illori's, we don't need another one.
