Rafa to stay for 15 years

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby A.B. » Sun Oct 31, 2004 4:48 pm

"Rafael Benitez today revealed he has discussed with his wife the possibility of staying in Liverpool for 15 years!
Benitez has made an instant impact at Anfield since succeeding Gerard Houllier as Liverpool manager, and he says he loves the job so much that he plans to stick around for a very long time.

"My wife is coming round to the idea we're going to stay here 15 years," said Rafa. "She's confident in my ability and the possibilities we have at Liverpool. She knows I have to give this adventure a lot of time."

Benitez has been overwhelmed by the affection shown to him by the fans, and also by the backing he is receiving from the club's board.

He added: "At Liverpool I feel people give the manager a lot of respect. We are safe in the knowledge that everyone in the club supports us and that's important."
-----------------------------------------------------------
Rafa is a great manager, within a couple of months he has already made an impact on us. I wouldn't mind having him for 15 years with us.

He is one of the best coaches in Europe at the moment, along with Maurinho.

The onlu thing is if what if he gets offered to manage either the Spanish national team or Real Madrid when the galacticos are long gone? I hope he won't be tempted when that opportunity comes his way.

great news that is, as Leon said if he is here that long it would mean he has been a success, perhaps in the league of Shankly and Paisley?

Benitez is the best manager we have had for nearly 20 years.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.
