Well at least we can see Willian for what he's worth, b0llocks to him, who we onto now then?  :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

one minute he`s saying he never misses a liverpool game on the telly and starts following coutinho and lucas on twitter, then he says he`s a mate of villas-boas, jumps on a jet plane and has a medical at spurs and now by all accounts he`s on the verge of joining chelsea!

That's the mind of a modern footballer - it's not a new thing.

He is his agent's bitch plain and simple and goes wherever they want him to go. All that talk about watching us, being best mates with AVB, blah blah, is a load of old tosh.. Apparently Chelsea have bid 40m euros. I smell a rat and think it is Abramovitch helping his russian mate at Anzhi get a bigger slice of the fee spurs are getting for Bale

When you hire a young manager like BR, you have a responsibility to back him in the transfer market if/when a top target is identified.

This is where my doubts about FSG resurface...

I can understand missing out on Mykh as Dortmund had a deal well in place before now, but not on the Willian deal...

This incremental, slow mo approach to rebuilding is not smart...

Team is lightweight...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Abromovich and Jose are trying to hijack the Willian deal by offering £32m. Apparently they are very close to agreeing fee with Anhzi. What an absolute mess this is going turn out to be.

Unrelated to Willian.  I read this evening on some rumour links on the LFC site that Sakho is an avid fan, WANTS to join the club and has told his club so. From the little I've seen of Ligue 1, he looks alright. Can't decide if he'd be a whole lot better than Skittle though..

United, Chavs  and Citeh all have a new manager, Spurs have lost their best player, Arsenal are suddenly found very wanting and Liverpool need to beef up their squad having nearly lost their best player. The top 6 are all affected in one way or another.

What did you expect, a non-event transfer window?

What is our alternative?

Hope we continue to build momentum by adding players that are undervalued while occasionally spending big money on the right players (like Mkh or Costa, not so much Willian). Dortmund made it to a CL final using this approach and I have seen enough from BR to know that he is a very talented manager and can take us places.

Suarez is still a Liverpool player....who else have we not lost and which "best" players have gone

we have been hemorraging top players for a while now (torres, alonso, mascherano, arbeloa etc), why do you think we went from 2 time CL finalists to a side  finishing 6th, 7th and 8th? bad luck or something?
you can be pedantic as you want but the fact remains that suarez desperately wanted out and the only reason he is still here is because he has 3 years left on his contract, rodgers himself said that next summer they probably wont be able to keep luis because once his contract gets below 2 years his value will plummet.
if you think the likes of suarez and coutinho are happy to hang around a club finishing outside the CL places for the rest of their careers you are in for a shock.
forget the likes of city, united and chelsea, at the moment we are struggling to hold on to the coat tails of arsenal and spurs.

Not sure I would put Torres first in the list of players that we have lost. Thought it was excellent business at the time and nothing since has changed my mind. Just a real shame that nearly all the gain was lost on Carroll. Arbeloa has done better than expected for RM and was never consider a top player at Liverpool. Alonso was more of a Rafa ***** up than anything. Owen and McManamon were as much Liverpool ***** ups as anything else. Yes we have lost players over the years to Barca and RM. So have United with Ronaldo. Spurs will with Bale. There is very little you can do about it. Financially there are only a handful of clubs in that league as Spurs are probably about to experience with Willian.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

85 million RM paid for Ronaldo - excellent business on the day for Ure.  If they'd hung on for another season or 2 would they have got a better price? I doubt it. Of course he matured into a great p[layer at RM so they got their money back - but that is a statement about the quality of the guy... not like those we're currently discussing.

Almost anyone is better then Skertel ,And Sakho would be a great buy. It's a position we desperately need to strengthen and Mamadou is an ideal candidate.

Now let's count to 10 and Watch Spurs sign him...
