It's not whether you or I value Willan at 28m its whether the club does.

If Liverpool bid 28m then obviously they agreed with the value. Why oh why would get cold feed if that raised by another 2m?

What about the suppoed 30 million PLUS 50% sell on value that was in the paper?

No you're missing the point, by a mile.

1) Either you have a valuation ceiling or you don't, if a player exceeds your valuation then you walk away. There are plenty of other places to spend £30M. Note that City bought Fernandinho, Navas and Negredo for under £30M each. Willian is not a special player you need to break your budget over.

2) According to most sources on the Willian deal, our offer was matched by Tottenham not exceeded. Willian chose a life in London over Liverpool. He isn't the first and won't be the last.

If you think that Tottenham signed a contract with a 50% sell on clause you are a very simple lad. No club would sign such a high percentage.

Regardless of that (it wasn't the difference between us and Spurs), according to most reports Spurs did not exceed our bid. Willian CHOSE London over Liverpool.

Yet Barrett and the Guardian were both suggesting that Spurs went above our bid and Anzhi offered us the chance to match it and we didnt

I don't live in the UK either, I read it on the net (Times/Telegraph/Independent, I don't remember which).

I haven't passed an opinion on the Spurs management, just asked a question, so pull your knickers back up and get on with your day. 

The 50% sell on clause came from a Russian Journalist.

Rumour has it that Fabio Contrao is moving to Totsh1te as part of the deal to take Bale to RM.

Yep that was rumoured to be part of the deal £70-80mil plus Contrao

I don't think Coentrao will fit. Plus they have Danny Rose, why would they want another LB?
