If there isn't a great deal to push us on then Spurs must have done wonders. They seem to have found players. There are plenty players out there that can push us on and improve the squad - it's the club showing the desire and intent to get those players and not be too worried about saving money. Willian may not be worth 30m Euros but Anzhi paid 32 mil for him in Jan so they are going to look to get as much back as possible and Spurs offered that and a deal we have spent over a week sorting out is prob signed sealed and delivered by Spurs in 48 hours.

Every player is on the market at the right price - it's whether clubs are willing to pay the right price.

Benny your so negative its hard to read. This is 100% serious, I am prepared to bet you 100 that we accumulate more points this season than last. Thatbwill obviously be more than under kenny the season before and despite a negative net spend. Y ou in ?

Why don't you have a bet about getting 4th or maybe even 5th. Getting more points and coming 6th is meaningless. Sorry but no I won't take that bet because we will prob get a couple more points this season, but we will still not get into the CL.

Not at all - getting a couple extra points maybe improvement from his first season but its not good enough - if he doesn't get CL then I would want him to be replaced.

The target for me for it to be an acceptable successful season is Top 4.

it has to be said though that this hasnt been a fantastic transfer window (so far), we`ve strengthened the squad but i`m not sure we`ve significantly strengthened the starting XI.

Not easy is it though ? Neither have United or arsenal. Spurs may be spending the money from bale for all we know. Let's not all be so negative and dismissive of rodgers and our club though.

Unfortunatly Ben I can't point to any track record that will give me hope that BR is the person. I don't believe we should have ever appointed someone with so little experience and a zero track record as a manager. And nothing so far has convinced me otherwise - I have no confidence in both the manager and Owners and this transfer window just confirms that so far

So, Totsh1te are still in 'talks' with Willian. We should nip in there and offer £31m or €31m  (whatever it is) and sort it now.

Anyway, we really need to replace Ian Ayre and whoever else is involved with negotiating cause they ain't doing much good.

Yep we went forward one place in the league.

Cups were a different story.

Not good enough and certainly doesn't mean BR is good enough.

We came 7th Ben with nothing to cheer about and failed to qualify for Europe

I preferred 8th and winning a trophy

We were 9 points better off. I would like a trophy too but we progressed in the league. Based on the last few seasons

And that 9 points gained us one place

We moved forward one place in the league but went backwards in the cup comps - you can call improvement - ill call it not good enough just like the previous league campaigns. It's clutching at straws tbh - we are battling around 6/7/8 places for the last couple of seasons and will again this season. Unless the improvement gets us CL football then it's not good enough IMO. The owners stated that we needed CL football , a manager was fired for not getting CL football - I'm guessing the goal posts from the owners have changed.

Guessing you are.  If you don't think the side has improved under rodgers its your perogative. But I think sturridge an Coutinho are the most exciting combination since Gerrard and torres and feel very optimistic.

dalglish was unlucky to lose his job after getting to 2 cup finals in one season.
takes some doing that, especially considering we had to beat the likes of chelsea, city, united and everton to get to wembley.

Sell the club and sack Rodgers!
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
