I'm not concerned...we have a squad of capable individuals who I hope will be moulded into a team that will give 100% in every game and achieve the best position possible in the league and hopefully win some silverware ....signing an overrated american rapper for £30 million would not have improved our chances at all...my cup is well over half full, yours is clearly almost empty...matchday must be torture for you

I just seem to want better from the club - never seen the standards so low in the last 30 plus years. There almost seems an acceptance of how low we currently are and excuses are looked for and positions in tables are accepted as good enough.

Signing a quality player would have improved our chances. I want a team that puts my club into the top level of club football not scrape around the mid table places. I don't want just "capable" individuals.

Match day for me isn't a pleasant experience at the moment because its very sad seeing a once great club now performing so poorly. Yes e cup is half empty - because there is nothing to fill it bar a talented Brazilian called Coutinho but don't achieve CL and he will leave as well and then maybe reality will dawn and heads will remove themselves from the sand and eyes will be opened up.

There is a phrase that flies around the ground and the forums and twitter etc - Accepting Mediocrity - very apt for our club right now.

We get so far on the bigger deals then back off or are trumped on the offer.

End of the day these type of guys make the difference and if we are not prepared to push the boat out
that little but further and its very frustrating.

I do wish there was more transparency on what went wrong, with deals seemingly done and dusted only
for it to blow up at the end.

Ian Ayre just cannot get it done, and after the fall out with Rodgers last year over signings I suspect
words will be exchanged as target after target has just slipped away from us again and its becoming
an embarrassment.

Rumours are that we bid 28m (euros ) Spurs bid 30m (euros ) and Anzhi offered us the chance to match it and we declined !! I hope that's *****

you clearly think paying £5 for a pint guarantees you the best pint..it doesn't
you clearly think paying £1000 for a whore gets you the best sh&g..it doesn't

I'm surprised you think our standards are at there lowest for 30 years that means 1983 is the nearest year to compare and we weren't bad then.I'm not as pessimistic as you and I must enjoy the moments of elation a lot more, despite witnessing the years of total domination all them years ago.....

If only those analogies are relevant to football.

There are no guarentees but the chances are the better players go for the better fees - you always get the odd players that buck the trend but they are not the norm.

Pay bigger fees and you have a better chance of getting the better player. How did clubs like Chelsea and City become top 4 clubs and title winners - by spending money on the better players.

Only have to look at the winners in the prem over the decades - which team last won without spending money on quality players - no one has answered that question yet ?

And the 30 years I used is because I'm only 40 and in the 30 years I can remember supporting the club - it's never been as worse than I see now.

You enjoy the moments of elation - let me know when they happen because its hasnt been much elation since Wemberlee.

Earlier i asked in terms of quality where do you rate our squad ? Top 4 or not

Truth is Spurs were well ahead on him than LFC, as was Dortmund in the Mykh case.

It doesn't always translate to how expensive a player is...The club has its valuation of the player, and in this case it was quite high, but not astronomical One has to respect that. There are other players and the club should move on to them..

But no question the squad is a little short, in numbers and quality...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

No guarantee on any player but paying more massively increases your chances of success
and any major league in Europe will reflect that.

If we had gone the distance on Soldado and Willian then surely there is no argument we wouldn't
have a better chance than we do right now but that honour has gone to Spurs who finished above
us last year.
