I didn't forget Sandro, Benny. He'll be out injured until the next transfer window, as you said. So I'm not counting him.

I'm sure Bale will leave and Tottenham know it. Otherwise, they wouldn't be spending like crazy right now.

Not really crazy money - just normal spending tbh mate. If Bale does go then I would expect their spending to ramp up. They are looking at players like Willian and Diamo. But it's gone very quiet with Bale and Madrid.

Their total net spending so far has been more than 40m mate. That's not normal spending, certainly not for them.

But that's the sort of spending you need to do to get into the CL - that's the sort of spending that gets a team quality players - and it has done. 3 quality players bought with possibly more arriving.

Sandro is back in training. he'll miss the first couple of games, but will feature in September so I think he should be counted. So should bale as he hasn't gone anywhere yet.

True, but that's a different thing Benny. Because they're spending to get into the Champions League it doesn't mean that their spending is normal. I know where you're going with this and sadly I'd probably agree with you, but that wasn't my point.

So they'll have 5 quality center midfielders (not counting Dembele because I assume he'll play as an AM next season). That's not a lot. We have Lucas, Gerrard, Allen and Henderson and we're not even in the Europa League like they are.

EDIT: Actually, they'll have 4 as well (Sandro, Paulinho, Capue and Holtby).

But they have balance within that midfield with a lot of strength and quality going forward.

John Henry says Liverpool are still working on deals for new recruits, one of which is understood to be Diego Costa. (Telegraph)

Potentially TWO headcases in the squad. Sheesh.

Will be surprised if we get Costa now - Madrid offering a new bumper contract to him.

Liverpool offered Suarez a new contract - they mean very little these days.

I reckon they'll play with 2 strikers so need to count dembele and sigardsson too.  6 into 2.

But even if they do only play one striker it will still mean 5 into 2 and no space on the bench for a very good player.  Some will not be happy with the lack of game time

Certainly going to take good management - think its going to be the one striker though mate supported by a high AM

BBC Gossip reported Perez (Madrid) said after meeting Levy (Spurs) in Florida that " £84 million was too much to spend on the 24 year old (Bale) "

Could they maybe now turn their interest to Suarez (?)
