Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Sorry for bringing the past up, but i need your opinion, i also put it in another room, but they only want to talk about durian  :D

My mates just involved in an argument about whether GH contributes to and deserves praise for Germany defeat by England 5-0 in goals created by all ours. One says GH deserves the credits while the other says negative.

Please share your ideas, thanks.

Anfieldadorer, the only part where you can say Houllier contributed with respect to England at that time was the maturing of Gerrard as a player, although after that he singled him out as the cause of Liverpool's ouster in the CL and proceeded to give Gerrard a public bollocking - the whole team did not perform and he singled out one player. Similarly, he did the same, although worse words were used, on one David Ginola who's French national career ended after Houllier's outburst.

This clearly illustrated his shortcomings in man management. You don't get Fergie or Wenger dissing out his players like that, and even the famous hair dryer treatment is reserved for behind closed doors only.

That was probably Gerrard's best game ever in an England shirt and strangely, he has never quite reproduced his Liverpool form for England. Perhaps it has something to do with him having to sit back more and let the likes of Lampard and Becks to hog more of the glory.

I wonder if Gerrard will remain an enigma for England.

I think he plays left winger for england........if he plays centre all the time, he would have been great.
