Apparently papadopolous is able to play DM well, and has done in the past.  Perhaps we are to sign two CBs and papadopolous is also cover for Lucas.  If so £12m sounds like good value.

I see. I completely agree on your defensive changes here. I don't rate Johnson because of his defensive frailties and inconsistent offensive displays so I'm all for getting a solid RB. I also still think that Skrtel is a fine defender. if we can sell Coates and have Papa the Greek come in, that would be ideal. Papa, Skrtel, Agger means good competition for the CB spots.
If we must play Johnson, then left back is probably better for him than right back so he and Enrique can compete for that place.

Johnson has had an off season but he is still one of thew best right backs in the league, and FWIW I would keep him ahead of Skrtel. Johnson may lack some positional sense but he hasn't cracked (in terms of confidence) as Skrtel has.

fans have a tendancy to only want to sign exciting attacking players but defenders can transform your team too.
look at the impact vertonghen has had (at both ends of the pitch) for spurs.

i really hope we get both alderweired and papadopolous.

kelly and wisdom can cover rb n cb

sign eriksen and a forward, osvaldo of roma for example, and we wil be sorted

vermaelen is ridiculously overrated

I've sort of heard of him but don't know anything bout him, reading this related article (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/iago-aspas-scouting-report-lowdown-1906402) he sounds as though he's cut from the same cloth as Suarez when it comes to passion and determination.

I think Vermaelen is a pretty decent player, and £5 million would be really cheap, but that's not gonna happen.  He is very injury prone tho.

And Osvaldo from Roma would cost a hell of a lot of money.  Papadopolous, Eriksen and Osvaldo would costs us somewhere around £60 million.  I'd be thrilled with those 3, but I don't see it happening.

Would be very happy if we managed to sign Begovic and Papadopoulos! Has anyone heard how much we might expect to receive for Reina and how much Begovic might cost us? Think his a great keeper, also 5 years younger and 3 inches taller, we'd probably have to cough up another 3-5mil on top of the fee we get for Pepe.

Old news. this is last years report.

i do love reina but if we are gonna lose him we mite as well do it now and sign begovic before someone else does, i remember reading a while back that christian tello could be part of any reina to barca deal, could be a useful trade.

so far i must say i am happy with the rumours surrounding the club, albeit rumours.   but papadopoulos, begovic, tello, eriksen, tour and an attacking option and its job done.

sounds like shelvey is off to west ham
